Can't recommend because of historical inaccuracies.

If you've read one of this author's books, you've read them all. Historically inaccurate. The author's knowledge of the mores and customs of 19th century North America is very obvious. The author obviously grew up in a modern community and does not realize how very recent many of our modern day conveniences were developed.

This was entertaining as the characters were getting to know each other, the neighbors were biased about Mail Order Brides and gave her a hard time even though she tried to befriend them. After a tornado came upon them the girl wanted to help and did so, this impressing her new Husband. A must read for those who enjoy historical western romance kindle books from Amazon at a special price and from a delightful author who keeps me wondering what next for the characters.

Fun Christian Historical Fiction

This is a Christian historical fiction book about forgiveness, and the unconditional & real love of God. My favorite quote is: "God has a plan for all of us, but sometimes we don't see it until He is ready for us to see it. He is just preparing us for it." This is also a great love story, where Preston patiently proves his love for Millie. Preston learns to no longer define success by how much wealth he amasses, but by the peace he feels in his life. Another profound quote: "Worldly items do not matter. They are not part of our external plan..." A really sweet & easy read!

FORGIVENESS IS TO LET GO AND LET GOD WORK

I found this story to be an emotional story with heartache, broken dreams, family issues, along with making amends and granting forgiveness. It is sad how families can cause such heartache for another family member, how parents can be cruel and verbally abusive. It is always a reminder that when you feel you have been wronged, it is all right to move forward, and not look back. God does not look back, not for a moment. Sometimes it takes a crisis for us to realize what we hold most dear and hopefully, we will have the chance to make amends and more forward.

The plot kept me captivated and on an emotional roller coaster as this story unfolds. It has a great cast of characters, heartwarming and emotional dialog and shares the love and forgiveness of people, as God forgives us. A beautiful flower for a beautiful book.

A sister, a brother and a youngman. They had known each other all of their lives. Life was not good for them yet their love was great for each other and for God. I gave this book five stars because it was well written and it was moving. I hope you take the time to read it. It is short so take an hour and relax with this good book.

Amazing!

I loved this book right from the start. A beautiful cover too! The characters bring you right into Cinder Creek, Wyoming....such strong characters...Millie experiences love, heartache and loss....she has her brother Buck and they lean on and protect each other. Preston....a very kind and loving man....his heart still in love with Millie. With their faith and courage.... all learn to forgive! I highly recommend this book to anyone.

An amazing story that keeps you on your toes. With all the twists and turns, you won't want to put this book down until it is over. Brandeen is a wonderful character that can't seem to stay away from trouble. It is great to read her adventure. Not only does it share a great story, but it opens your eyes to a time when the English weren't so kind to the Irish.

Even though this book was free, I did consider asking the author for "Time wasted" compensation.

The Book consists of 1 part viking romance and the rest is small short stories (in different languages). That means about 50 pages of the cover story and the remaining 600 something a total different story

Couldnt get past the first chapter it is so badly written ..Dont these people even have some kind of editor or a friend read it? Doesnt the author even reread it?

Needs work

I gave 1 stars, I can read almost anything but this book I had a difficult time getting through the first chapter. I'm hopeful the writer doesn't give up but tries a rewrite of this story. I would give it another shot if she did.

Historical setting

I enjoyed the older writing and historical setting quite a bit. A great erotic read with various love scenes that I enjoyed. Great extras in the book too. Overall I'm quite happy with this buy.

Ugh

This book should have been named "How to not use comma's". There are so many comma's in one paragraph it makes the paragraph hardly understandable and distracts from the meaning of the story. The protagonist is a veteran of the civil war but many sentences begin with " if there was one thing I learned from the civil war it was (place word)". The writer uses this so often (in the beginning, at least) that there are several first learned. Just too many first things learned at the same incident. The grammar is atrocious that it takes writers liberty to awhile new meaning. This book is unreadable and not recommend.

What an incredible ride

I loved it ! Andrew Hanson tells of his experiences of ridding with William Quantrill and Bloody Bill Anderson and how a disagreement with a fellow rider continued to him haunt most his life. It starts out him returning home to find a horrific sceane on his family farm where he vows to seek revenge for his little sister Lise. Although the things that he does to get revenge are morally questionable at times he even when dealing with the frustrating Chameli, he holds a strong sense of honor and respect for what is right. She however is not your typical woman you would find in most western novels. Throughout his quest for justice done to Lise, Andrew experience a lot of loss and sorrow and wonders if it is payment for all the damage done while ridding with Quantrill . At times it had even me wondering if he would ever catch a break. It's an incredible story that keeps you turning pages and at the end saying "WOW !". This book made me a fan of Ken Coleman's Revenge Sequels Books. I recommend this book.

This is a biblical romance. It is Bible-based, and nearly all characters are taken from the New Testament. The narrator is a mature, fatherly figure, educated and an elder in the local synagogue. He has many friends and coworkers, is well-regarded by all and is a figure of authority and respect in his family.

There is one short chapter at the end where the narration changes to Joseph's elder son. While a lot of dialog includes women, all conversation can be heard as if remembered by the narrator.

This is not a book of humor, although some comic relief is inserted as a part of daily life. The baby who will change the Western world was raised normally in a loving family and close-knit town. His heritage and upbringing made him the man who later took a bunch of fishermen and led them into a New World Order. He had to be homespun and good-humored himself!

This Joseph was just the man to raise such a prodigy.

Heartwarming, Gut-wrenching Story

Super wonderful Christian book! It takes you back to those days of the West where women were few and far between. A mining town is not a place for a pretty young single woman! Mattie hates having to dress like a boy, and it isn't until later that she realizes it was for her own protection. She wants out of that small town, and so does her brother. But when they board the train bound for Pennsylvania, Mattie finds herself alone when her brother finds what he's looking for along the way. An awesome, well written book.

Fun historical story.

A short, sweet and fun read set in an old mining town. A good way to pass the evening.

WAIT AND TRUST

I enjoyed this clean Christian western romance that has some mystery and suspense and a message that God can clean up any sinner. From Oregon to California in 1851, traveling by a mule train to join her brother Jackson, Jennie Felder is the only girl along with her father making this trek. The town of Shasta is mud and men, this isnât a place for a lady, and to learn that Jackson owns and runs the saloon. Christian, Lance Corte, runs the mercantile, but he is leery of Jennie, is she like her crooked brother Jackson? The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning as the mystery of who is stealing the merchandise from the mule train as it is coming into town. Can the sweet nature and gentle heart of Jennie turn a saloon into a tea house and make a profit? While in jail will Jackson change or return to his old ways. I found the dialog heartwarming and the message that God has a plan for each of us, one where we will prosper and will be protected if we only trust and obey His word. Sequel, please! LOVE the beauty written in this story.

WOW - a novella that sweeps you into historical Scotland and into the arms of a swoon-worthy, sexy man who happens to be a powerful, violent Scottish water horse? Uhm. YES, PLEASE. True to form, (go check out her sweeping saga, The Phoenix Decree, by the way!!), Albergucci draws you in and does not disappoint. My only complaint was that it was a novella, but hey, I knew what I was getting into, so I can't fault her for wanting more of Douglass. I'm secretly hoping she'll revisit Douglass and Jenny at a later date. ;)

Outlander meets water horses

Outlander meets water horses in this magical tale. Albergucci weaves a tale of an English girl moving to the Scottish Highlands after the death of her father where she lives with her uncle and cousin. It is here that she meets Douglass, a man who beats up her (awful) cousin, except that he has saved her before - as a water horse.

Albergucci switches between Jinny and Douglass's POV's smoothly. Each one has their own distinct voice, which is refreshing. The romance feels right, and it moves quickly.

This feels right at home next to Outlander on my shelves. Five stars.

Go back in time

Right from the opening page, I felt like I was THERE. The voice, the descriptions, the accents--all of it brought me right into the story and kept me there. This book with get you hot and bothered (some seriously steamy scenes), but if you are looking for a romance that also leaves you with warm fuzzies at the end, this is for you. I finished it smiling.

A good short read.

I enjoyed this one. A little twist on the changeling theme. It was an easy read. The author provided good visual descriptions. I could picture the characters Douglass and Jinny.

Sexy Shifter Meets Damsel in Duress

Do you have a warm spot for a lad with a sexy Scottish accent? Douglas McCrall- is a delicious, bigger than life super-alpha, sexy shifter. He is a living legend- a water horse who has an uncommonly kind heart for an (ech-ooskya). His demonstrative love for Jenny- is so refreshing. Jenny, has another unrelenting (this is an understatement) suitor who I would describe as both crazed and unkind. Will he prevent Douglas and Jenny from being together? I stayed up late reading this one and cannot wait to see what else this author puts out.
