    Narrator: Serena Scott Thomas
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 12 hrs and 52 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 07-15-16

Genres: Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Fantasy: Epic
    Publisher's Summary:
History remembers Guinevere's sin, but it was Arthur who transgressed first.
Forced into a marriage she neither anticipated nor desired, Guinevere finds herself High Queen, ruling and fighting alongside Arthur as they try to subdue the Saxons, Irish, and Picts who threaten Britain from every direction. Though her heart still longs for her lost love, Guinevere slowly grows to care for her husband as they join together to defeat their enemies.
Meanwhile, within the walls of Camelot their closest allies plot against them. One schemes to make Guinevere his own, another seeks revenge for past transgressions, while a third fixes her eyes on the throne. When the unthinkable happens and Guinevere is feared dead, Arthur installs a new woman in her place, one who will poison his affections toward her, threatening Guinevere's fragile sanity and eventually driving her into the arms of her champion.
Amid this tension a new challenge arises for the king and queen of Camelot: finding the Holy Grail, a sacred relic that promises lasting unity. But peace, as they will soon learn, can be just as dangerous as war. As the court begins to turn on itself, it becomes clear that the quest that was to be Arthur's lasting legacy may end in the burning fires of condemnation.
This highly anticipated sequel to Daughter of Destiny proves there is much more to Guinevere's story than her marriage and an affair. See the legend you think you know through her eyes and live the adventure of Camelot's golden days yourself - but prepared to suffer its downfall as well.

    A Must Read
I was voluntarily provided this book via audiobook boom. The story of Camelot came alive for me through this book. It reminded me so much of the movie with Sean Connley as Arthur. I have read many stories and accounts about these characters but this one was very well done. The narrator was the perfect choice for this book. If you thought you knew the story of Camelot get prepared to have a fresh look.
    Eloquent as Ever
I'm fairly certain I enjoyed this book even better than the first one and I believe I gave that one five out of five stars. I was really happy to have it deal in PTSD and the other difficult topics because I hadn't experienced that reading Arthurian fiction much.
A lot more sympathy for Guinevere than with other stories of her and Lancelot.
Great story.. new way to look at Camelot stories
I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the
    author, narrator, or publisher.
the narration was great and it provided a new outlook on the Camelot stories..with some nice twists
    This book is fantastic!
What made the experience of listening to Camelot's Queen the most enjoyable?
This is the first story I've found that tells this story/history from the perspective of Guinevere, this makes it both unique and interesting.
Which character as performed by Serena Scott Thomas was your favorite?
Serena makes all the characters come alive but my favorites have to be Guinevere and Lancelot.
I love the narration of this book, it's just fantastic!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Goodness yes, I'm not sure it's possible to make it through this book without at least feeling moved.

Language and moderate violence though entertaining
It's an interesting story and fairly well written. There is plenty of bad language if that bothers you and some slightly descriptive violence and gore though would not call it too much for teenagers and up. It isn't dark though not a happy go lucky story either. Seems like they win some and lose some, leading up to a hopeful happy ending eventually.
    Fast Paced
The writing was not as magical as it was in the first book. The world building was well done complete with culture, history and religion. Where the first book dealt more with the inner spirit this one was non stop action.

The thrilling prequel to Shroud of the Avatar from Portalarium!
The world died during the Fall.
Abandoned by the mighty Avatars and their Virtues, the people who remained were left defenseless in an untamed land. That was until the Obsidians came. Through dark sorcery and overwhelming force, the Obsidian Empire brought order to chaos, no matter the cost.
Aren Bendis is a Captain in the Obsidian Army who has seen enough of what a world without Virtue looks like and is willing to do whatever it takes to establish a lasting peace. But after finding a magical sword that only he can wield, a sword his trusted scout, Syenna, claims is a blade once used by the legendary Avatars, Aren is thrown into a far more unfamiliar battle. One fought with whispered words and betrayal instead of swords and arrows.
Running out of allies, Aren's only hope for survival is to discover the true nature of the ancient weapon he wears at his side. In order to do that, Aren will have to turn to the empire's enemies, and in doing so he will discover what order at the hands of the Obsidians really means.

    I Loved It
I just loved this book and Derek Perkins brings it to life. Can't wait for book one.
Haven't played the game, but big ULTIMA fan
    Any additional comments?
I really wanted to love this book. I grew up reading the Dragon Lance series (Tracy Hickman) and Richard Garriott has been a childhood hero ever since I first played Ultima IV. I will read the next book when it comes out, but this one had some problems for a reader that has not played the associated game. I am very familiar with the concept of Avatars and the Virtues - thanks to ULTIMA - and I was aware going in that the story wasn't necessarily based in the Britannia universe I am used to. The story does start out very slowly and the character development is limited, with the exception of the protagonist. The story was engaging enough to keep me listening and not leave me entirely disappointed in the book. I loved the little references to a "Lord Brinish"and I can't say that the ending was entirely predictable, but the most immediate antagonist was pretty bland and uninteresting. I have high hopes for the next book.
Good for gamers. Probably boring for everyone else
This book is a must-read for all of us who want to enjoy the storyline or roleplay in the game "Shroud of the Avatar".
The book is extremely hard to enjoy at the beginning, as it is doing what all good book *series* do with describing the world. The authors like to drone on about the world at times throughout the book as well.
The ending of the book is note-worthy and makes the rest of the book a much more worthwhile endeavor.
Overall, I do not *yet* recommend this book to anyone who is not playing the game. I may change my recommendation once the book series is finished.
    decent book
good story although lacking lots of detail. it could have easily been much longer. as an avid player in shroud of the avatar the loose ends and lack of more detail into many of the interesting characters and events was dissapointing. but other than that it was a great read and would recommend it to the masses
    Very slow, needs SOTA hooks.
I couldn't get hooked to the story at all. Decided to finish the book, since I play shroud of the avatar game.

The End of a Long and Winding Road.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, and I have since I read this series thirty years ago. A great set of believable characters in a brilliantly described world.
What other book might you compare To Green Angel Tower, Part 2 to, and why?
Tolkien and George RR Martin. This is a huge compliment and also a slight dig at the books. I really enjoyed these book but they are overlong and the grand finale could have had a better pay off in my opinion.
What does Andrew Wincott bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?
A truly superb reading. Definitely up there with the Game of Thrones books and Ken Follett's Century cycle. These are epic books with huge casts and Mr Wincott makes each voice unique. I hope he won prizes for this narration, he deserved to!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I'm a 48 year old burly bruiser and I cried pretty much for the whole last hour. My gripes about the lack of a hugely exciting ending aside, I had invested over 120 listening hours to these books! I was embroiled in the lives of the characters. It was very cathartic!
    Any additional comments?
A great listen, like the latter Game of Thrones books, there is a little too much eye for the detail but that gripe aside, a great fantasy quartet for fans of the genre.
    Involving and enjoyable escapism!
Very sorry that I've now finished the series and have to say goodbye to everyone, but really enjoyed every aspect.
Fantastic that this last book kept up the twists and turns and never ran out of steam.
    Highly recommend.
Compelling series that needs a TV series.
brilliant story, compelling characters and excellent bad guy; best ending I've heard of since Asimov's Foundation series.
    A Masterful Finale
A grand, sweeping and gut-wrenching finale to a masterwork of fantasy. Long, yet immensely rewarding. When all the disparate threads come together, it is, quite simply, a masterpiece.
    brilliant
excellent story telling and narrated with passion. brilliant story as always, Tad Williams at his best

Ok Story ~ Not As Good As Book One!
After listening to book one, I was looking forward to Victoria's and Reece's story; however, their story fell short and just didn't captivate me like book one. I did like Victoria, her character was sexy and tough, and Reece was definitely more that what he seemed.
I've listened to several stories narrated by Marcio Catalano and he does a great job; however, I do have one complaint on this story, no southern accent. The story referenced Reece's southern accent; however, no southern accent was used. Besides the missing accent, the narration was great!
Humm, not sure if I will continue series, still considering it.
great listen while I'm at work, calm voice great

Carnifex: A reviewBy. R. F. Cisneros In the world of fiction, there are many writers out there. And as there are many writers there are just as many different types of genres. One of these genres is the fantasy genre. It is an area of fiction that several authors can write well and some that Im afraid to say cannot. Luckily Ive had the pleasure of reading some good writers. And, unfortunately I've had the displeasure to have read some bad ones. Now, one that stands out has an uncanny grasp of the written word is D.P. Prior who is one of the good writers out there. D.P. Prior is the author of the Nameless Dwarf series. And, he is one of the authors that can indeed write the fantasy genre very well. The type of fiction that the fantasy genre represents is filled with magic, creatures of mythic lore, and lands of immense description and imagery that can Make you weep in your minds eye. I myself dont like to spoil things for people. You see, if someone spoils it for me I dont really mind. But doing it to others I think is in bad taste. So no, I will not be giving out plot points to the story so don't ask. What Im going to do is my best on letting you know how well this book was written and how well the story flows with its rich characters, as well as its vivid landscapes. I also will do my best to explain to you how well written the battle scenes are done, giving you an explosive example of how fighting by dwarves is and should be done. His way of creating worlds and characters is something that has made me look at fantasy writing in a different way. Prior has a way of creating battle scenes that make it look easy, something that not many can do. His way of writing makes you want to keep turning the page to see what comes next. Action scenes that come out from the page with their vivid detail and imagery give you the feeling of being there during the action. All in all, his writing is something that I would recommend to anyone who is interested in the fantasy genre and I can state that they would not be disappointed with his style of story telling. I believe that if and when you decide to pick up his latest tome titled "Carnifex," that you will enjoy it as much as I did.
first audible experience and it was awesome.
I had read the print edition originally and had the opportunity to purchase the audible edition. this was my first exposure to audio and I loved it.

Before queenship and Camelot, Guinevere was a priestess of Avalon. She loved another before Arthur, a warrior who would one day betray her.
In the war-torn world of late fifth century Britain, young Guinevere faces a choice: stay with her family to defend her home at Northgallis from the Irish, or go to Avalon to seek help for the horrific visions that haunt her. The Sight calls her to Avalon, where she meets Morgan, a woman of questionable parentage who is destined to become her rival. As Guinevere matures to womanhood, she gains the powers of a priestess, and falls in love with a man who will be both her deepest love and her greatest mistake.
Just when Guinevere is able to envision a future in Avalon, tragedy forces her back home, into a world she barely recognizes, one in which her pagan faith, outspokenness, and proficiency in the magical and military arts are liabilities. When a chance reunion with her lover leads to disaster, she is cast out of Northgallis and into an uncertain future. As a new High King comes to power, Guinevere must navigate a world of political intrigue where unmarried women are valuable commodities and seemingly innocent actions can have life-altering consequences.
You may think you know the story of Guinevere, but you've never heard it like this: in her own words. Listen and you will hear the true story of Camelot and its queen.

Great take on a Classic Tale
If you could sum up Daughter of Destiny in three words, what would they be?
    Guinevere is badass...
What was one of the most memorable moments of Daughter of Destiny?
I loved the introduction of Guinevere. Too often her character is made to be this evil villain, rather than a pawn in the games of men. Learning about her history and the talents that she possesses was enlightening and important to the story.
    Which scene was your favorite?
Any scene involving her Lover. While not all were happy moments it offered a glimpse into the other relationship that Guinevere had.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book made me thoughtful. I have read about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round-table since I was a young child, and every telling painted Guinevere in an unflattering light. This book changed those preconceived notions and I am very excited to read the future series.
    Any additional comments?
This audio book was graciously provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review
    Love the Subject
I have always been interested in British history. It is rich with what could be fact or fantasy, but either way, always fascinating. The story of Guinevere, Authur, Knights of the Round Table, Merlin-all of it-takes us back to a time in history where even speculation is remarkable given that it was so long ago. People are still telling the story. Even with the most meticulous research, the truth will never really be known. I think that is the reason it can still be told and augmented with the author's imagination.
Daughter of Destiny: Book 1 is the story of Guinevere's early life, from 11 years old to about 16, when she is betrothed to Authur. From what I have read previously on this subject, there are variations from what may or may not be the truth. Who really knows?
It was well written and Serena Scott Thomas does a fine job with the narration.

    Amateurish writing, grating performance
Even at just under 2 hours (audio book), I could barely finish this first installment of a new fantasy work that is being released in serialized form. As I listened, I cringed and grimaced with each awkward simile, each stereotyped character, each superfluous detail. I thought, wow, its so obvious this is a first novel, the bad grammar and misused words grating more and more with each passing minute.
For instance, I wondered why a noblewoman would describe another character as clueless when the rest of her speech was written in a (bad) attempt at High English. Its not that I object to clueless as a word in general, but I do object when it is placed in the mouth of a character that is otherwise speaking English that is so stilted and Olde Fashioned that I half expected her to break into iambic pentameter at any moment. Surely you cant have been missing me already? --her first sentence in the bookis a prime example.
Imagine my surprise when, upon doing a bit of research in order to finish this review, I realized that Ms. Kushner is the author of a well-loved fantasy series! I am still trying to get my mind around that piece of information, because the heavy-handed descriptions of place, the overuse of dialog and the creaky plot felt nothing like the work of someone who had already published a successful novel.
I was drawn to give this serial a try because it features not one, but three strong female protagonists, and because it purportedly deals even-handedly with queer issues. Unfortunately, I cannot get beyond the stilted writing style to listen beyond this first episode. Even though I understand that other chapters are written by other authors, this inauspicious beginning has me running to download something completely different for my next audio listening experience.
[I listened to this as an audio book. The passages about the Duchess are performed by Katherine Kellgren in a snarky and exaggeratedly aristocratic voice that I think had a lot to do with my antipathy toward the whole book. Two other narrators read other passages of the book with more naturalness but still not enough to make me want to buy Chapter Two.]

    Fantastic!
I have listened to, in my opinion, a lot of different books. I have a criteria for "good books" this one fits them all, action adventure emotions, the works. Above all though, if I can imagine them as a Dungeons and Dragons game where I'm listening to the dungeon master (the player that guides the story for those who don't know) portray the images associated stories, it's one good book. This is one of those books.
    Well done Steven Harper
And well done P. J. Ochlan
    hmmm
writing a story that drags out a love affair over is cliche. too much angst over big truth. why does audible have limitations on reviews
    Sadly disappointing
The first book in this series was an interesting read, with a well crafted world and mythos. Sadly, the second of this series did not live up to the promise the first book showed. Very quickly the emotional baggage one character needed to deal with, turn very quickly into an emo pity party. I had to pause this book repeatedly as I would reach my tolerance, but still wanted to see if it would improve. If you liked vampires that sparkle in the sun you might like this.
    Good but not great
I've always hated strong characters with such pity weakness. Could have been better but not horrible and easy to listen and it does not have a lot of filler in it.
