Today we’re talking all about helping your children and even ourselves to tell the truth. Patty didn’t want to join a Zoom meeting he was supposed to be on, so he started fabricating an idea that would prevent him from having to go on the call. This is when Rosie just had a frank conversation with him, telling him that if he really doesn’t want to be on those calls, he can just tell us and we won’t force him to. We realized that there are days when Patty will give resistance to seemingly insignificant things and that all he wants is to be able to have some power in his situation. Your kids will tell you the truth when they feel like you respect them, and when you respect them, you’ll get the why and what they value.

“I never wanted him to fabricate a story to get a certain result. I would rather that he could come to me, we could discuss it, and then we could choose what’s best for him after studying it out and discussing it.” 4:07
