Left out way too much in the abridgement. Books are not in the correct reading order.

Yes! But only unabridged.

At first I was excited to have a digital version of both of these books, but then I realized that they were not in the right order, that they were abridged and that the reader is terrible.

We need an unabridged version

I have read these books and am fairly disappointed that I cant find an unabridged Version of this audiobook. The parts that were cut out, or actually vital to the storyline. Perhaps someday they will re-voice this story, Without all the edits.

Terrible Composition

Ok, it has been long enough that this was not too painful, but the simple fact that the books are out of order is insane. Ruined the whole experience. I wish I could get a refund and buy the two books separatly.

very good for an abridged version

sadly, both books are abridged, but they are done very well. a pleasure to listen to.

Story cut to pieces!

The speaker does a good job and it's one of my favorite stories but this is a horrible version. They cut out almost all the best jokes and personal character growth parts. All the parts that keep this story from becoming a documentary are gone!

A Land Battle

I have enjoyed this series since book one, and here we are already at book twelve. I think is the best series by Nuttall; he has three or four series ongoing.

The war between the Commonwealth and Wolfbane has been going on longer than either side had anticipated. Both side are having equipment and personnel problems. Admiral Singh is now the governor as well as military leader of Wolfbane.

Colonel Stalker, Commander of the Commonwealths military, tells his officers the Commonwealth will fall in the next two years due to lack of equipment, combat spaceships and the falling apart of the Commonwealths worlds. He has designed a desperate battle plan in a win or lose situation. He plans a land battle on the industrialized world of Corinthian. Admiral Singh was once in Command of Corinthian so Stalker anticipates she will take risks to retake Corinthian. Stalker will command this battle himself, and, my favorite character, General Yannie will command Division One.

The book is well written. Nuttall does an excellent job in writing battle scenes. His description brings the battle to life including all the carnage of battles. The pace is fairly fast and the action is non-stop. Nuttall continues to develop the key characters. Nuttalls battle tactics and strategies left something to be desired. Oh well, I am an armchair strategist.

Jeffrey Kafer does an excellent job in narrating the series. I am pleased that the same narrator has done the entire series.

It was good to see Nuttall get back to his great story telling

The book was well rounded and tie seamlessly into the previous story lines without too much repetitiveness. His character development continues with a greater understanding of several surrounding individuals that was reminiscent of his earlier books.

The best of the last four. Enjoy

This is Stocker's war the way we like it!

After several volumes where Ed Stocker plays a secondary role, this book has him back in command and running the offense against the evil Admiral Singh. Although he is in the Command Center, and not leading the actual fighting, he is there on scene, and involved! They are setting a trap for Singh at Corinthian hoping to put an end to the tyranny of Singh as well as Wolfbane.

I bought this audio book on the day it became available and I wasn't disappointed! If only we could clone Mark Goodwin so he could keep up with my "prepper fiction" addiction! His books are always exciting, wholesome and loaded with useful tips. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

Lots of changes come in this chapter. Trying not to give anything away, but good to see the two story lines come together.

Could not stop listening!

Sisavath has done it again! I made every excuse I could think of to be in my car so I could keep listening to this fantastic story! The new characters introduced are great, the story stays fresh, and the action never stops. Cannot wait to listen to the next installment in this fantastic story!

Maintain your hold on Song Island

Lara and crew maintain their hold on Song Island against the unexpected raiders while the anticipated attack from the blue-eyed ghouls seems to be on hold for the moment. The raiders boat may come in handy if our heroes have to abandon island. Will, Danny, and Gaby struggle to push onward towards Song Island. It seems they have to fight for every mile. Kilroy raises its head once again, the group is attacked, separated, and Will sacrifices his freedom so the others can continue on. Will winds up with a trio of survivors from Dunbar, cons his way into their acceptance, and convinces them to go to Song Island. Way to go Will! Out of the frying pan into the fire. Will and trio are ambushed by wannabe soldiers and Will is captured again. How does that saying go; if Will didnt have bad luck hed have to luck at all? Something like that. Meanwhile, Kao tries to continue his journey to Jillian, but the channel to the Gulf is blocked by wannabe soldiers and he has to turn back. Good story, decent characters with lots of action. I look forward to more to come.

Great story and narration

All I can say is that this book held me spellbound. The narrator brought it fully and completely to life. The story itself was captivating and so well done. I am so glad I bought books one and two at the same time, because if I had had to wait for book 2, it wouldve drove me crazy. The ending was great. There was closure And it all fit together so well.

What did you love best about Sector 64 Box Set?

First off, I have to say I was totally blown away by his latest book, Solitude. That being said, I immediately bought the boxed set of this series because that man can write stuff that I can LOVE! Sector 64 is different though. It's really good, do not get me wrong, but it is not up to the caliber of Solitude. That means it is STILL an awesome story though. Dean's mind takes you places that you couldn't have even imagined, much less developed into a compelling alien story.

took a bit to find it's voice

What did you like best about Mechanical Failure? What did you like least?

The first third of the book was a bit clumsy and I didn't get a good feel for where it was going (not in a good way). However, as it progressed, it started hitting it's beats and ended up worth the ride. I was expecting something along the lines of Red Shirts (John Scalzi) but it headed in more of a Futurama vibe, not in a bad way. I enjoyed the secondary characters, there were some LOL moments. I won't spoil them, but you'll know.

Sign me up for book 2 & 3

This is one of the best first novels I've ever "read" of any genre.

The narration has the totally engrossing quality of a story being told (well), rather than one merely being read. The only other author who has had that effect on me was Nathan Lowell.

There's a character in this book who has a similar talent - you want to stop and listen intently to every single word.

This book helped save my job!

I have hard job, had had enough of the idiots at work. I was going to jump ship . I got this Sunday night ,started in ,and did not want to put it down. I went to work started it back up,and made it through the day! At the end of the shift a co-worker asked what I was laughing about all day. He said I have worked with you for three years , and I have never seen you laugh like that! Get this!

This is the first self narrated book that I have enjoyed. I would listen to this guy read others books as well. He needs to work on using different voices for different characters but he did a great job overall.

Great work Jeffrey Kafer

I am really enjoy listening to Jeffrey Kafer, I picked this series because he was reading them. He could read me pi to the 100th digit and I would probably give him a great review.

I enjoyed the story because it is always promising to be entertained all the way until the end. The only drawback for me is the lack of engineering science, but the story makes up for that with the complex characters, A.I. science and plenty of action.

Awful

The narration of this audio book is adequately done but the storyline is garbage. Book two in this series happens just after the start of the outbreak. The characters seem one-dimensional and contradict themselves at times. The main character is insecure and everything she does seems to be about pining for attention. I just did not like anything about this despite having high hopes after book one. I will not be continuing to book three.

Almost seven weeks have passed since the Hemorrhage Virus ravaged the world. The remnants of the United States military have regrouped and relocated Central Command to the George Washington Carrier Strike Group. Exceptional.

I have started this review many times but wasn't able to formulate the words that I wanted to say, not because this was bad, but because it was exceptional and the words I wanted to say weren't enough. This book, and indeed the whole series, has been phenomenal.

So Kate, Meg, Tasha, Jenny and a few other islanders were taken by the variants and their collaborators back to the lair of the Bone Collector. Beckham and team Ghost (well what's left of them anyway) immediately set out on a rescue mission. It might just be their toughest fight yet because the girls are in danger.

Meanwhile, there is dissension in the ranks, with someone wanting to send a nuclear bomb to wipe out the variants, even with men still in the field, but the president denying the request. The culprit isn't happy though and a mutiny is about to take place. Can Lt. Davis and a handful of hurt marines stop it in time?

This is just a drop in the bucket of what happens in this book!! As with each book, the action is non stop, and I mean non stop. Every page is chock full of it and it's hard to take a breath because you know something is about to happen!! I didn't just read this... I devoured it as I couldn't put it down!!

The author isn't afraid to take risks either. In every book characters die, but he also kills off some prominent ones, and I was afraid to find out who was killed here!!! There are deaths, some of them painful ones, and no-one is left unscathed. My heart was in my mouth so many times with this and I was in tears a lot too, but it all added up to a simply amazing book.

These characters have become some of my favourite and even though this was supposed to be the end, I'm so glad the author decided to write 2 more. This would have been a satisfying ending to Beckham's tale, but there were a lot of unanswered questions and I'm delighted we get to see some of Team Ghost go to Europe and take back the world!!
