Throughout our lives, we often find ourselves being triggered emotionally by other people’s actions. Maybe a store clerk says something that really sets us off, or a co-worker makes a comment that triggers anger or shame in us. These experiences every day give us the chance to really learn about ourselves. There are few situations that force us to really face this reality than in parenting because we are often pushed to our emotional limits (and we are often short on sleep for it as well!).
That’s one of the beautiful things about parenting—it is truly a soul revealing journey. Our kids give us so many opportunities to observe what is triggers us (some days, it might feel like there is a bit too much triggering:). In this episode, we give you lots of concrete examples from parenting to allow you to first identify your own triggers and take back the power in the way you connect with others:)
