Both Coco & Fran received some unexpected, and potentially upsetting news, surrounding Covid. This episode was pieced together during their conversations detailing how this news has affected them mentally, and what the outcomes could mean for both of their Christmas celebrations.
If there is one take-away when you listen to this special episode: please don't take your health and the health of people around you lightly. If you feel even remotely off in any way, err on the side of caution and don't be around anyone. At the very least, wear a mask! If you need to get tested because you suspect a possible exposure, please, please, please notify anyone you may have been in contact with immediately. Do NOT wait until you get your results. Simple precautionary measures could save so much time and heartache. And they can also potentially save a life. Please be safe.

It's our favourite time of the year! Our wonderful friend, Akilah Peynado from Slay The Clutter, joins us for a special episode of Ask Akilah - Holiday Edition! Three questions from our listeners who need a little advice about some holiday woes. We also chat about some of the anxieties that surround all of us during the holidays and how important it is to set up boundaries for moments that can typically cause stress. And we discuss the importance of communicating your needs and limits to avoid feeling pressured or uncomfortable around our family and friends. The holidays are stressful but who's to say you cannot be in control of your own happiness and sanity.

Reflecting on our previous episode (S2 E49 - Three Sisters), Coco opens up about a recent interaction between her sister that had her struggle with her shortcomings as a sister and a friend. Judgement and criticism is not something that is welcomed by most. And yet, many of us feel the need to impose our thoughts and views onto others. Is there ever a good time for that? Fran also discusses his recent meditation session with one of our previous guests, medium and psychic healer, Pardis Partow.

Recorded back in October, Coco has a chat with her two sisters - who don't hesitate letting her know that it's about time she asked them on the show! They get real about the struggles they've had with their relationship growing up, and how the bonds between them have only strengthened over time.

When we shifted our podcast focus to mental health, we were invigorated with this new sense of purpose. We have always shared our own personal experiences with trauma, mental health, personal struggles and growth, all while weaving our unique sense humour through each episode. We want to bring back that focus again, talking about topics that are important to us and society, and how they affect what we do or don't do. In this episode, we discuss how social media has become a platform for Mental Health Theatre. Everyone seems to have the perfect quote or life mantra that we should follow. How many of those people are actually practicing what they preach? Is it important to walk the walk? It's certainly important to put the work in. And that's where many of us fall short.

We often reflect on things we need to change: within our selves, in our lives, with the people around us. This type of reflection also leads to us thinking of the things we are grateful for. And we're not just talking about the usual suspects: family, health, food, shelter, etc. What are you grateful for now that you did not have a year or more ago?
We are joined by super fan & contributor, Maija, who shares her gratitudes in life while running her own business, and homeschooling her child.
