We covered the first two days of Celebration last Friday, so now we’re talking the second two days. Star Wars Land will be super interactive. Star Tours will take us to an exclusive land from The Last Jedi. Kathleen Kennedy says we’ll be getting an announcement for a new film this summer, but what could it be? Obi-Wan? Probably! Disney announces plans for a new immersive hotel experience. Rian Johnson hits the controversy call as fans remark on the change in Ben Solo’s scar. Harrison Ford talks about his thoughts on the young Han Solo movie. Battlefront 2 looks amazing, and might possibly be the second greatest Star Wars game of all time. Mark Hamill speaks about his initial doubts on the ending of The Force Awakens and how fans would react. Oscar Isaacs recently spoke about a very intense scene he shot with Carrie Fisher.

Episode 192: Walt Wednesday – Fresh Genie of Bel Air, Club 33 Coming To WDW, and Summer of Heroes! (April 19, 2017)

Welcome back Cast Members, to another Walt Wednesday episode here at CLOUD CITY CAST!

Summer of Heroes is coming this May to September with new adverts hitting our tv screens to announce. Frozen Summer Games will make a splash starting the end of May at Blizzard Beach in WDW. Walt Disney World is adding their very own Club 33 locations at all four of their parks. WDW till also roll out with their own Uber-like transportation service. Fantasmic will incorporate new movies into their featured live action and light extravaganza. DisFlix came and went with the fledgling paid membership service breaking some pretty serious House of Mouse rules. Frozen Bro  adway finds its princesses with Patti Murin as Anna and Cassi Levy as Elsa in shows this August to October in Denver before heading to St. James Theatre in NYC. Will Smith has been tied to the upcoming Dumbo live action film, but it seems his talks have been going a little less big top, and a little more Arabian Nights.

Episode 191: Marvel Monday – Final Iron Fist Recap, James Gunn Volume 3, Thor Takes Home The Crown! (April 17, 2017)

James Gunn to return as writing and director for Guardians Vol 3. Logan Marshall-Green set to portray Jackson “Montana” Brice, one of The Enforcers, and an eventual heir to the Shocker mantle, at least in the Spectacular Spider-Man animated series. It’s possible he may take up the name after Bokeem Woodbine’s Herman Schultz. Thor Ragnarok has amassed the highest 24 hour viewings of any Disney film, including their live action, Pixar, and Star Wars.

Episode 190: Force Friday – The Last Jedi Trailer 1 Breakdown, KOTOR Remake, and Carrie Fisher Tribute! (April 14, 2017)

Welcome back Cast Members, to another Force Friday episode here at CLOUD CITY CAST!

Star Wars Celebration Orlando is finally here and we have so much to talk about! George Lucas and Harrison Ford surprised fans by appearing onstage for the opening panel, marking the first time that Harrison has made an appearance at any Celebration. Billie Lourd paid tribute to her mother in an incredibly emotional speech complete with video montage of Carrie throughout the years. We typically tell you to take fan theories with a grain of salt, but this time we might need to borrow the salt to help us choke down some crow. A popular fan theory was practically confirmed by Clone Wars/Rebels Producer/Director Dave Filoni and Star Wars historian Pablo Hidalgo. In twisted Heath Ledger Joker fashion, they also gave us some fun insight in how Boba Fett “got these scars”. And to cap off the animated section, we’ll find out Ahsoka’s fate in this next season of Rebels, with a sneak peak this Saturday at the Star Wars Rebels panel. Billy Dee Williams confirmed that he WILL NOT be in Episode 8, much to fans display, and Disney confirmed that General Leia will not appear in Episode 9, despite claims made by Carrie’s brother, Todd Fisher. Forces of Destiny toy line makes to right the wrongs done to the heroines of the Star Wars franchise, especially after recent social media dust ups pointing out the absence of female character toys. Mark Hamill had his own tribute panel where he broke down his relationship with Carrie and how she impacted him both on and off the screen throughout the years. And finally, It looks like Knights of the Old Republic is getting a facelift as reports have surfaced that developers in Austin, Texas are currently in development of a remake/revival of the hugely successful game series.

Episode 189: Walt Wednesday – Tron Lightcycles Coming To America, The Rock Renamed The Skipper, and Disney Announces This Year’s Disney Legends! (April 12, 2017)

Welcome back Cast Members, to another Walt Wednesday episode here at CLOUD CITY CAST!

Disneyland is putting WiFi into the parks to allow visitors to utilize Max-Pass, which should also minimize congestion on cell networks. Dwayne The Rock Johnson will be the lead in a live action film based on the classic ride, Jungle Cruise, and surprised guests in WDW when he joined the skipper to navigate the rivers. Dead Men Tell No Tales sneak peak in either Sunset Theatre or the Bug’s Life Theatre will be coming April 21st, until May 28th. Disney Legends for this year’s D23 Convention has been announced and will be hosted by none other than Bob Iger. The ceremony will be on Friday, and will feature 9 different recipients. Dante’s Lunch was recently released and it is adorable! There was a really fun East Egg in there that you’ll have to see for yourself! Michael Keaton is the top pick for the villain in Disney’s live action remake of Dumbo, to be directed by Tim Burton. Tron Lightcycle Power Run, over in Shanghai Disney, is coming across the pond to make it’s make not only in Disneyland but also Walt Disney World. Beauty and the Beast will be bringing a sing a long version to theatres as it closes in on clearing one billion dollars at the box office.

Episode 188: Marvel Monday – Part 1 of Our Iron Fist Spoiler Review, Spiderman May Swing Solo, and Defenders Teaser Teases Date Release! (April 10, 2017)

Marvel got themselves in some hot water as the company’s Vice-President of sales remarked about readers “did not want any more diversity”. At CinemaCon, film producer for Spiderman Homecoming Amy Pascal remarked that Sony and Marvel may stop collaborating after the sequel to our web slingers new solo outing. Chris Evans spoke about his  inevitable departure from the MCU, how bittersweet that will be, and how RDJ may be the first to go. Marvel’s Black Panther is currently seeking “hip asian men and women” in the Atlanta area to join the cast. As Jessica Jones gears up for season 2, they’ve brought out the big guns by hiring award winning actress Janet McTeer as a pivotal role. Charlie Cox was seen in a brand new suit on the set of Defenders. We finally have a release date as Defenders gave us a quick 16 second trailer with a clever way to show the expected day this summer. Marvel’s New Warriors hasn’t announced their cast yet, but they have confirmed that Squirrel Girl will be a featured member of the team.

This isn’t an April Fool’s joke, although that would be an amazing idea for the future, but we lost a bet to Animation Station Podcast back during the Academy Awards season saying that Moana would beat out Zootopia for  Best Animated Film. Obviously, we did not win and so now we find ourselves in the delightfully obscure position as we will be dedicating our 3 shows this week to the diametric opposite to our regularly scheduled programming.

In our final day of the bet, we had Josh and Gavin on to talk about Star Trek. They picked out a couple episodes for us to watch to see what our thoughts we be, and we chatted about the upcoming Discovery television series starring Sonequa Martin-Green from The Walking Dead!

Episode 186: How To Train Your Wednesday – Captain Underpants, Shrek 15, and Boss Baby Bosses Box Office! (April 5, 2017)

Welcome back Cast Members, to our How To Train Your Wednesday episode here at CLOUD CITY CAST!

This isn’t an April Fool’s joke, although that would be an amazing idea for the future, but we lost a bet to Animation Station Podcast back during the Academy Awards season saying that Moana would beat out Zootopia for  Best Animated Film. Obviously, we did not win and so now we find ourselves in the delightfully obscure position as we will be dedicating our 3 shows this week to the diametric opposite to our regularly scheduled programming.

Today we’re talking all things Dreamworks, starting with Larrikins being scrapped in favor of Captain Underpants starring Ed Helms and Kevin Hart.

Boss Baby has almost made back it’s entire budget in just it’s opening weekend at 114m.

There’s a slew of upcoming animation from Dreamworks coming our way, from Croods 2, How To Train Your Dragon 3, Puss in Boots 2, and Madagascar 4.

The Shrek 5 script is finished and should go into production later this year for a theatrical release in 2019.

Episode 185: Man of Steel Monday – Joss Whedon Switches Teams, New Justice League Trailer, and DC Starts Stacking the Deck! (April 3, 2017)

Welcome back Cast Members, to our Man of Steel Monday episode here at CLOUD CITY CAST!

This isn’t an April Fool’s joke, although that would be an amazing idea for the future, but we lost a bet to Animation Station Podcast back during the Academy Awards season saying that Moana would beat out Zootopia for  Best Animated Film. Obviously, we did not win and so now we find ourselves in the delightfully obscure position as we will be dedicating our 3 shows this week to the diametric opposite to our regularly scheduled programming. First up this week we’ll be talking about everything going on in the DC Universe. Kicking it off with Joss Whedon switching sides to direct a Batgirl solo movie for the DCEU, which will feature the New 52 version of Batgirl, Barbara Gordon, having donned the cape and cowl again after recovering from her spinal injury seen in The Killing Joke. Wonder Woman may not have much of a future as screenwriter Geoff Johns said during a recent panel at WonderCon that he “can’t confirm” that a sequel is in the works. Speaking of WonderCon, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and screenwriter Geoff Johns both confirmed that the three things missing from the DCEU are exactly what makes CW’s The Flash so endearing: heart, humor, and heroics. The new Justice League trailer has dropped and although the previously mentioned heart, humor and heroics may be present, one thing that is still apparently constantly missing is the sun. The Flash film has now run through two directors and seems to be in dire need of someone to kick the film into high gear. With Warner Brothers pushing back Aquaman from early October to late December of 2018, could this be the film they want to launch in production this year, and if so, who will direct? Also in the works are Gotham City Sirens (David Ayer to direct), Suicide Squad 2 (with possibly Mel Gibson slated to direct), Dark Universe (originally slated to be directed by Guillermo Del Toro, who has since left to be replaced by Doug Liman), Green Lantern Corps (not slated for release until 2020), and a slew of solo films from Deadshot, Black Adam, Lobo, and Nightwing. Aaron Sorkin is best known for his rapid fire dialogue and incredibly intense character arcs on such shows as The West Wing and movies like The Social Network and Steve Jobs. Reportedly he’s now turning his head to superhero films as he’s had meeting with both DC and Marvel.

Episode 184: Force Friday – Justin Theroux Joins Cast of Episode 8, New Rey Scenes Premiered At CinemaCon, and Potential Upcoming Star Wars Films! (March 31, 2017)

There’s been some more casting news circling Episode 8 as Justin Theroux has been announced as playing a new character described as a “slicer”. New shots of Rey were shown at CinemaCon this past weekend in a Disney sizzle reel showing snippets of all their upcoming films. Star Wars Celebration is only 2 weeks away and if you’re going you can get your nerd love groove on. There’s been more rumors concerning what we can expect in the upcoming years when it comes to Star Wars in the saga, series, and spin offs.
