Episode 163: Force Friday – Battlefront 2 Will Be Bigger/Badder/Enjoyable, Rian Johnson Gives Episode 8 Influences, and Is There Such Thing As Too Much Darth Maul! (February 3, 2017)

Mark Hamill comes to the prequels rescue, as well as Jake Lloyd’s. Battlefront 2 comes out this fall, and will improve on the original by actually having a single player campaign. Star Wars: Bloodline is now available in paperback and it goes into details of how the First Order rose to power, and the private lives of Han, Leia, and Ben. Told from Princess/General Leia’s perspective, as a Senator and leader in the Galactic Senate of the New Republic. Star Wars: Aftermath trilogy will conclude with Empire’s End, coming out next month with a poster available when purchased at Barnes & Noble with one side featuring Grand Admiral Rae Sloane, the trilogy’s chief villain, and the other side showcasing Norra Wexley, Rebel pilot hero and mother to Snap Wexley from The Force Awakens. Daisy Ridley continues to be interrogated by Murder on the Orient Express co-star, Josh Gad, but she plays it a little cooler this time. Rian Johnson revealed three classic films that he used for influence while crafting The Last Jedi, which may give us more insight on how the second film in our new trilogy will feel. Darth Maul solo comic debuts at Marvel, with a special appearance of a special creature from The Force Awakens.

Disney has filed a patent for a new ride system that could potentially affect the ride depending on a guests reaction. Crazy cool or creepy cool? The Royal 21 isn’t a new card game at the casino, it’s actually an exclusive Disney dining experience that includes park passes, VIP treatment, as well as a dinner for you and 11 of your friends…for a price! Beauty and the Beast’s live action remake has released what is being referred to as their FINAL TRAILER, so of course we break it down and give you our FINAL THOUGHTS, at least for now.

Episode 161: Marvel Monday – Avengers Reassemble, Marvel and DC Head to Head For The Superbowl and Like Fleetwood Mack We Also Have Rumors! (January 30, 2017)

Welcome back Cast Members, to another Marvel Monday episode here at CLOUD CITY CAST!

Square Enix and Marvel team up for upcoming Avenger’s Reassemble video game, new story that gamers can play for years to come. More details will come in 2018. With Doctor Strange and Ant-Man introducing the multi-verse and quantum realm, respectively, have they opened the door to characters we wouldn’t have seen otherwise, like Miles Morales, Lady Thor, Ms. Marvel and Spider-Gwen? Marvel to preview Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 trailer during the Superbowl, possibly another Disney film, Pirates of the Caribbean. 4Chan and Reddit have been busy with MCU rumors as of late, so we’ll discuss some of the better ones, especially ever major character coming back to make an appearance, even the dead. Agent Carter for more flashback purposes, as well as Quicksilver more than likely to mess with Wanda’s mental stability. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2: Peter Quill’s mom will appear in Guardians Vol 2, Aaron Schwartz is playing a younger version of Ego. Spider-man Homecoming: Both Logan Marshall-Green and Bokeem Woodbine billed as Shocker #1 and #2. Tyne Daly credited as Ann Marie Hoag, director of Damage Control Inc. which is a great way to back pilot the ABC spin off show, and puts to rest the rumor that she was going to be the female iteration of J Jonah Jameson. Thor Ragnarok: Sam Neill to play The Trader aka Universe Elder Cort Zo Tinnus another one of the celestial beings alongside The Collector, Ego, and The Grandmaster. Thanos to appear in Ragnarok, lending more credence to the rumor that the Soul Stone will appear in the third Thor film. Black Panther: Klaue returns in Black Panther, Malachi Kirby as Young T’Chaka, possibly giving us a flashback sequence showing Erik Killmonger’s (born N’Jadaka) family being exiled from Wakanda to New York, setting up the events of the film. General Thaddeus Ross will appear in Black Panther, Shuri (Suri, T’Challa’s sister who eventually takes over as the BP). Thunderbolt might be after Bucky who we last saw in Wakanda under T’Challa’s care. Avengers Infinity War: Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne both to appear in Infinity War. Thanos won’t be coming to face the Avengers alone, according to a cast list for A:IW, he will have Corvus Glaive“vicious right hand man”, Nox (Black Dwarf), Ican (Supergiant), Proxima Midnight, and Ebony Maw. Pepper Potts and Jane Foster set for cameos in Infinity War. Peter Dinklage in negations to actually play Eitri, the creator of the infinity gauntlet. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Michelle Pfeiffer linked to Janet Van Dyne, Christoph Waltz to play Elias Strickler “mad scientist type”. Hawkeye and Falcon will appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Episode 160: Force Friday – Episode 8 Title Announced, We May Be In For More Forcebacks, and Ezra Bridger Is Totally Snoke! (January 25, 2017)

Welcome back Cast Members, to another FORCE FRIDAY episode here at CLOUD CITY CAST!

Episode 8 has the official title The Last Jedi! Do you love it? Do you hate it? Do you not care? Josh Gad bothers “Murder on the Orient Express” co-star Daisy Ridley in ambush interview to gain information on the recently announced title The Last Jedi, to no avail. Rumors are circling around more “Forcebacks” in Episode 8, with the possible return of Harrison Ford’s Han Solo to honor the passing of Carrie Fisher. Leia is already confirmed to appear in two key scenes, one a reunion with her brother, the other a face off with her son, Ben Organa. In the canon book Star Wars: Bloodline, it shows that Han and Luke were on good terms just six years before Luke exiled himself to Ahch-To.Rogue One characters will have their back stories brought to light in two new young adult novels. Rebel Rising, by Beth Revis will cover Jyn Erso’s time with Saw Gerrera and how she was eventually left behind. Guardians of the Whills, by Greg Rucka, will follow Chirrut and Baze’s lives as members of the order having witnessed the arrival of the Empire to Jehda as well as Saw’s rebels and try to find their place within all the turmoil. Both books are due out May 2nd. Ashley Eckstein’s clothing line, Her Universe, will bring even more Star Wars, Marvel, and Studio Ghibli apparel, with clothing inspired by Agent Carter, The Clone Wars tv show, Totoro and How’s Moving Castle.

Episode 159: Walt Wednesday – Details for Mission Breakout, Finding Dory Finds The Awards, and Our Studio Ghibli Top Five! (January 25, 2017)

Walt Disney Company earns 9 Academy Award Nominations, with Moana and Zootopia both nominated for  best Animated Picture, and several others nominated for Visual Effects, Sound Mixing, Original Song, and Short Film. You can watch it live on February 26th on ABC at 4pm. Moana sails past $500 million at the global box office, being the 4th consecutive Disney animated film to do so after Frozen, Big Hero 6, Zootopia. Guardians: Mission Breakout updates have been released, giving us a better insight into Disney’s first domestic Marvel ride. Main Street Electrical Parade is officially back with Paint The Night Parade rumored to make a move to Walt Disney World. Finding Dory won 3 out of 3 People’s Choice awards, taking home the award for Favorite Movie, Favorite Animated Movie Voice (Ellen), and Favorite Family Movie.

Episode 158: Marvel Monday – Escape With Captain America, Black Panther Is On The Move, and Marvel Joins Forces With Our Distinguished Competition! (January 23, 2017)

Omaze.com/escape to support Christopher’s Haven, a non profit that provides homes for kids and their families while they’re battling cancer in Boston hospitals. You can enter until February 3rd by donating to Christopher’s Haven from the Omaze website. Admiral’s Roel Reine to direct a few episodes of Inhumans alongside showrunner Scott Buck, who has been over working on Iron Fist. First two episodes in theatres Sept 1st for two weeks before coming to ABC on Sept 26th, 2017. Vin Diesel is not happy about inhumans not becoming a film, as the actor has been campaigning to play the role of Black Bolt for the past several years. Marvel and DC can work together when it comes to social issues as Scarlett Johansson, Brie Larson, Chloe Bennet, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Gabriel Luna, Krysten Ritter, Anna Paquin, Mark Ruffalo, Sir Ian McKellen (who held up a sign of Sir Patrick Stewart), joined Supergirl Melissa Benoist, Caity Lotz (White Canary), Danielle Panabaker (Killer Frost), Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter), Carlos Valdes (Vibe), Keiynan Lonsdale (Kid Flash). Luna tweeted out “ not because my mom, my wife, my sister are one, because I am one. I am human and believe in the equal rights deserved by all #womensmarch. Black Panther started filming last week and already set photos from Atlanta are popping up. Legion starts Wed Feb 8th. David Haller (aka Legion). Logan trailer comic book with Sauron on the cover was made specifically for the film, due to rights issues between Fox and Marvel. Several covers were made by Artist Dan Panosian penciled by Joe Quesada. The film hits theatres March 3rd.

Episode 157: Force Friday –Rogue One Makes All The Money, Mark Hamill Reunites With An Old Friend, Episode 8 Rumors! (January 20, 2017)

Welcome back Cast Members, to another Force Friday episode here at CLOUD CITY CAST!

Rogue One has officially cleared half a billion dollars domestically, and over $900 million globally, closing in on that magic ONE BILLION DOLLARS mark that it seems Disney has made the standard for their films. However, the future of Star Wars will not include Carrie Fisher digitally reproduced in Episode 9 as she was SPOILER ALERT! At the end of Rogue One. Rian Johnson has said that he already had a name in mind for Episode 8 when writing the first draft, and looks forward to developing more of the back stories of our new favorite characters and placing challenges in their path that will determine their future. Rebels hasn’t been afraid to bring in some of the iconic characters we have grown to love over the years, whether they’re from the OT, PT, or Clone Wars, and that hasn’t changed as their latest episode includes Wedge Antilles and Hobbie Klivian. Mark Hamill has launched his new show, POP Culture Quest on Comic Con HQ, which follows him as he pursues the greatest collections in the world, with the eighth episode (tricky, huh?) reuniting him with the original lightsaber he used in ROTJ. Like The Force Awakens, Rogue One seamlessly blended digital and practical effects, but the production team was saddled with the impossible task of recreating not only a film that could exist alongside it’s 39 year old counterpart, but maintain the same nostalgic look and feel. Episode 8 is still barely less than a year away, but we have plenty of rumors to feed us in the meantime, and we’ll discuss a recent one that we found which may tie in with some of the comics Marvel put out last year.

Episode 156: Walt Wednesday – Tangled Before Ever After With Hair, Coco Is Not A Musical Cause They Keep Telling Us It Isn’t, and Since When Did Dumbo Have A Villain! (January 18, 2017)

Welcome back Cast Members, to another Walt Wednesday episode here at CLOUD CITY CAST!

The Christmas season may be over, but that doesn’t mean Disney can’t look to bring Anna Kendrick on as a possible new Santa Claus or more appropriately Saint Nicole, with the focus being a family holiday adventure. Pixar has released some new details for the film Coco, hinting that the appearance of the village will be based on the actual Santa Cecilia, named after the patron saint of musicians, and WILL NOT, we repeat, NOT BE A MUSICAL, even though all signs point to this being a musical. As we approach the spring, we can get our hair all tangled up as the debut of Tangled Before Ever After come to the Disney Channel, starting with a DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) followed by the actual series. Finally, it looks like Disney is in talks with Tom Hanks to feature as the villain in the Tim Burton directed upcoming live action remake of Dumbo, with Will Smith being eyed as a lead. The MaxPass/PhotoPass is due to Disneyland soon as it allows park goers to plan their day by specifically choosing when they want to hit each ride’s fastpass access for only $10 per person per day. The Iron Man Experience has opened in Hong Kong Disney, and it is every bit amazing as it sounds, seamlessly blending the Stark Expo with a Star Tours style ride through Hong Kong while battling Hydra Robot Agents. The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts has started and will run until February 20th, with the one and only Jerrod Maruyama signing prints at the Wonderground Galley Tent inside the Canada Pavilion from Feb 17th till the 20th.

Episode 155: Marvel Monday – The Defenders Make The Cover, Cloak & Dagger Running A Tab, and Peter Dinklage From Trask to MCU! (January 16, 2017)

Welcome back Cast Members, to another Marvel Monday episode here at CLOUD CITY CAST!

Entertainment Weekly released the first images of this summer’s upcoming Netflix team up The Defender’s, with interviews and footage from the photoshoot released on their website. ABC to blame for cancellation of Agent Carter, Netflix passed on picking up any additional season, Haley Atwell has been vocal about wanting to play the character again in the future. Peter Dinklage has been in talks to join the cast of Infinity War and the Avengers 4 film. Most people have him pegged to play Pip the Troll or MODOK, but the possibility of him playing a completely CGI character, like Josh Brolin, is not out of the question. Michael Keaton compliments Marvel, and Tom Holland, especially as one of the few actors to cross over between the two studios.  Cloak and Dagger (Shadows) is said to have a huge budget, especially for FreeForm. Filming to take place in New Orleans, $42M budget, said to start filming in February. Rumored to be 10 episodes, $11.2M spent on location, $2.5M per episode, compared to Daredevil’s $4M per episode. SPOILER ALERT! Several character leaks were posted recently, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

Episode 154: Walt Wednesday – Cars 3 New Teaser, Disney Kids TV, and More Beauty and the Beast! (January 11, 2017)

Welcome back Cast Members, to another Walt Wednesday episode here at CLOUD CITY CAST!

Moana Singalong is making it’s way into theatres January 27th, similar to the Frozen Singalong from a few years ago. Warning, we will be bringing Remy and we will be singing along, and if you don’t want to put up with us, you can always pick up the movie February 21st on Digital HD & Disney Movies Anywhere, or Blu-Ray on March 7th. The new Cars 3 teaser trailer that just came out has even Liam all pumped for this one, so it must be good. Zootopia won Best Animated Feature at the Golden Globes, and boy did it deserve it! New Beauty and the Beast TV spot shows off more of Emma Watson’s singing skills and gives us a hint at other possible songs to come. Disney Kids TV will provide you will a ton of fun Disney content for on the go at a very reasonable price, that you can add to at your own leisure. We got our first look at the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout outfits the employees will be wearing as they get you situated for the ride, and they are quite impressive. Finally it seems like Walt Disney World is getting prepared to launch Pandora in Animal Kingdom around Memorial Day, but in the meantime they’re offering some great deals to Florida natives that we highly suggest you take advantage of (as long as you live in Florida, otherwise you’re out of luck).
