The I-Ching is a 5000 year old book of wisdom...which I think qualifies as "ancient".

Around 17 years ago I made a reading from the I-Ching (by tossing coins to generate one of the 64 hexagrams of the I-Ching). The reading had a dramatic effect on my life. In fact it's fair to say I would't be leading the life I am today if I hadn't stuck my nose into this weird old book.

The latest episode of the Science Fiction podcast tells the story of that reading, and delves into why the I-Ching has such a powerful hold on the human imagination for over five millennia.
