Nataly was born in Ukraine at a time when religion was only practiced by a few because of tradition and culture. Her family believed religion was laughable. As she grew up, she started asking questions about the world that no one could answer. One day, Nataly started taking English classes at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was surprised that the missionaries did not try to convert her, which made her more curious to learn about the Church and what Latter-day Saints believe.
