We covered ALL sorts of stuff in this one. Is an EJ207 worth it still? What chassis should you build a track car from? V Mounts? Even a rant about not being a jerk to someone who's helping you setup a build.
Good times!
Today we talk about that thing you ignore until 3rd leaves the chat lol. Transmissions are overlooked with maintenance but also gear selection for performance. We go over ALL sorts of topics today ranging from what gears are awesome, what aren't depending on your application, is building a 5MT worth it, and even "Uncle Scotties Cocktail".
This was a fun one with a LOT of info here.
Incredible episode. Ever caught yourself thinking of an idea for an engine swap and everything seems to make sense, it all lines up and you wonder "why aren't people aren't doing this"? Some folks forget to ask that question and they find out real quick.
Today we have Tanner Smith, the man behind the YouTube Channel Smeedia. We do some news together then go down the rabbit hole of his H6 swap into his VA STI. To say it was an odyssey is an total understatement. This is a GREAT episode that does a great job of answering "why?".
With the release of the destroker options to our EJ lineup, we thought it might be a good idea to talk about if a destroker makes sense or not for you application. This get a bit "rambly" but the info is solid. Then we have a classic "ask Dewey" segment that answers a LOT of great questions the audience asked in a thread on the IAG Insiders Lounge.
What an episode. Jon from Flatirons Tuning fown some time to sit down with us and chat about where he's from, where the shop came from and a bunch of other stuff. We go over the recent AOS issues he brought up and some great commentary on "Subaru on Subaru" violence within the community. Great chat!!
So this episode...was a disaster. What it was SUPPOSED to be was a great talk about wheels but due to technical difficulties (not on our end this time) we had to pivot and it just ended up being a fun chat about all sorts of stuff ranging from the car Dewey rented and how it compares to a new BRZ, the "chicken tax" and why we can't have small trucks, and Smeedia special guests and chats about H6 issues. It ended up being fun but OMG what a disaster lol.
!!UPDATE!! - We had some technical issues with recording today and there is some missing audio in here. Thankfully you didn't miss much in what was missing but there is some strange jumps. Were still new at this LOL!
Well this was a strange one! We tackle the "AOS is a band-aid" topic that seems to have come up recently. We also went on to chat about different Subarus and their best first mods. Then we kind of did a Q&A but we had people on the stage asking the questions.
Today we chat with Victor May from SubieEvents, the company behind a LOT of the largest Subaru Events in North America (Wicked Big Meet, Subie Fest, and Boxer Fest). We chat about the community, the changes it's went through, how he got into Subarus and his past (Mountain Roo) and also Dewey rants about a national level track event he would love to see. Great chat and a LOT of talk about community, what works, and this silly thing that binds us all, Subarus.
Man you thought the first one was good? This was was fantastic! We learned all sorts of stuff about what you need to do to develop a performance product these days, all about the new Cobb Tuning stuff for the GR86/BRZ, Super Lap Battle news, and even getting BMW ABS working in a GC! Plus new stuff coming like a new DCCD controller for the true nutcases out there. This was a BANGER!!!!
We chat about changes made to our AOS and how it effects the end user. Then we have a classic "Ask Dewey" where we answer your questions asked in the IAG Insiders Lounge on Facebook. We cover a ton of different topics from "VA/VB trans swaps into other cars" all the way to "what is the perfect STI?". There is even a rant about Corvettes in there lol!
