Full Hour | In today’s third hour Ian Smith, owner of the Atilis Gym, joins Dom Giordano Program to tell why he’s decided to run for Congress against Andy Kim. First, Giordano contextualizes the Atilis Gym story, beginning two years ago when Smith and his co-owner protested after Governor Murphy forced the gym to shut down due to Coronavirus. After a handful of long legal battles, Smith tells that he’s been driven to run to ensure that others don’t face the kind of governmental overreach that he himself had to face. In addition, Smith tells whether he was encouraged by the win by Ed Durr against Steve Sweeney, and tells what he hopes to accomplish if elected to office.
Then, Giordano moves into a discussion centered on China and the upcoming Beijing Olympics, playing back a clip from Mike Tirico’s opening for the Olympics, in which the host takes aim at China’s human rights violations, including the genocide of Uyghur’s in Northern China. Also, Dom touches back upon the Biden presser yesterday in NYC addressing the spike in crime, and provides an update on the situation involving a transgendered swimmer at UPenn.
