  • How To Measure Your Value

This is a good question... should it be based on pay? ability? passion? skill? The truth is, value is always based on the highest bidder --the one willing to pay the most.

In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie dig into this thought concerning our value before God and the price He was willing to pay for us. Ephesians 4:7 says, "But to each one grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift." Well, how do you measure that?

  • My Blurred Mirror

Very few people can look in their mirror and NOT see a flaw (or two or three...). It's human nature to see what's wrong. But the problem isn't the mirror. The problem is how we're seeing in the mirror.

In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about 1 Corinthians 13:12 which says, "Now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know as I also am known" (NKJV). Instead of seeing brokenness, gaps, or flaws in our reflection, we need to see (by FAITH) what God sees -- or at least know and believe there is more than we can see today!

  • Who is Me?

This question has been asked for 2,000 years and still confounds philosophers, artists, and everyday Joes. Someone once said: "Sometimes I pretend to be normal but it gets boring, so I go back to being me!"

    But who is ME?

In this week's episode, Daphne and Angie look at 2 Corinthians 5:13, which says, "If I act crazy, it's for God; if I act overly serious, it's for you." In other words, there are "parts" of us-- and those parts (that make up the whole) are constantly being renewed.

  • What’s Driving You?

You may not have given it a lot of thought, but something drives you everyday. What we mean is, there's a hidden force tugging and pushing on you from all sides to do or act right or wrong at any given moment. The word for this is compel.

In this week's podcast, Daphne and Angie talk about being compelled by the Holy Spirit versus being compelled by your flesh or another source. The problem is that the Bible says if you sow to the flesh, you'll reap of the flesh. But if you sow to the Spirit, you'll reap the benefits of eternal life. This perfectly explains why God and Satan are in a war over your decisions! 2 Corinthians 5:14 says:

  • Are You on a Path You Didn’t Intend to Travel?

Every person, at some point or another, has been lost or missed their turn. It can be frustrating and/or time consuming, but we eventually find our way and get back on the path. But what if we're talking about life, and not a trip to Grandma's house?

In this episode, Daphne and Angie talk about getting off-course, whether intentional or unintentional. God's Word has a lot of instruction about finding your path, staying on course, and how to recognize the signs for either. One thing we know for sure is, God is merciful. He is always with us and ever ready to help show the way.

  • Eat, Drink, and Be Merry!

You've heard the phrase. You may have even said it before. And maybe one of you really brave souls will admit to having a t-shirt in your closet that says, "Eat! Drink! And Be Merry!" But did you know the Bible originated the phrase as sarcasm in reference to living for yourself?

In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about a different use for this phrase. What if it described partaking of God's Word, drinking of His Spirit, resulting in a life that had "joy unspeakable and full of glory" (1 Peter 1:8)? Jeremiah said, "Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart" (Jeremiah 15:16).

  • Six Hindrances to Faith

In 1968, Kenneth E. Hagin said, "Notice 1 Timothy 6:12 says there's a fight of faith. That means there must be enemies or hindrances to faith. If there weren't any enemies or hindrances to faith, there wouldn't be any fight to it." This is absolutely true! And in this week's podcast, Daphne discusses with Angie the six hindrances Brother Hagin described that keep Christians from growing spiritually.

Interestingly, all six perfectly summarize the main points of Identity Advantage. So whether it's 1968, 1998, or the start of 2016, God's Truths remain the same!

  • Encouragement from Las Vegas

Las Vegas?! Yes, all the way from the Supernatural Leadership Conference at Word of Life Christian Center, hosted by Pastors David & Vickie Shearin. On this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne shares some of the highlights and encouragement she received at the conference:

How the natural will never out-do the spiritual
Riding waves in the Spirit and not being afraid of rocking the boat a little bit
Recognizing how & why the Word brings division between those led by the Spirit and those who aren't
The power of God toward us, in us, and through us!

  • What It Means to be Meek

We almost titled this podcast: "The Adjective That's Really a Verb." But that's awkward (although perfect). Meek is a word that's highly misunderstood, and according to Bible Scholar, William Barclay, meek is the "most untranslatable words of the New Testament."

But in this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie tackle this word with surprising results! Jesus said in Matthew 5:5, "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." Most people have understood meek as a description (an adjective), but in reality it's an action (or we could say, a verb). Meek is:

An attitude of Spirit that doesn't dispute or resist God
A condition of the mind and heart
A balance of strength in character

But the BEST example of what meek looks like is a horse trained by a bit and bridle. A trained horse has phenomenal power yet is led by a simple bit in its mouth. In other words, the horse exercises controlled power. And that's the perfect picture of how meek describes a believer who has set themselves to be domesticated by heaven!

  • The Danger of I, My, & Me

What's the difference between insecurity and pride? One has a lack of confidence and one is overly confident. So, what's the difference between confidence and pride? The answer is: it depends on where your confidence stems from. For example, confidence in self is a form of pride. However, confidence in God is security (or the opposite of insecurity).

In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie discuss how easily we can misinterpret or misunderstand the difference between insecurity and pride. They also discuss how to conquer one or both of these by paying attention to what you're watering. Every thought we have is a type of seed and seeds (good or bad) grow when we water them. When the seed of "I, my, or me" continues to break ground (or we could say, pop up), it's important to identify it and deal with it!
