This episode started out with my wanting to do something about gnomes, but as I let myself get sidetracked and swayed by the information, a new story emerged: Animism.
There's a revival of environmentalism as we see the destruction and aftermath of the Industrial Revolution. One way we might be able to reconnect with the Earth is by recognizing that we literally do it everyday -- through our devices.
Our modern technology is made from precious metals, rocks, and other elements from our planet and the easiest, most direct way to show appreciation for the planet (besides recycling, reusing, not littering) is to show direct appreciation for our devices and recognize the Earth's spirits that live inside them.
Do you love Celtic pagan rituals? Well, you'd better if you call yourself a Halloween fan. Do you love witches? They're not really women in pointy hats who ride brooms. Do you love vampires? Too bad, vampires suck. But candy! Everyone loves candy! Sure. But you know what I really love? My lover's heart on my desk.
This AND MORE on my super special Halloween episode.
Genesis Chapter 2 Review! Is this really a continuation of Genesis 1? Is it a creation story written by a man? Is it the creation story of ALIENS creating man?! Listen to this episode to not find out. :)
A secular reading and interpretation of the first 3 chapters of Genesis. Chapter 1 Review at the end.
To be continued...
TRIGGER WARNING: Antinatalism views procreation as "morally wrong."Â
When we fail to evaluate the reason we want children, we fail the children and the consciousness we bring forth. We neither can predict nor guarantee the quality of life our offspring will have, even if all the perceived needs or wants are met. I read Joy William's essay "The Case Against Babies." If you want a baby or have struggled to conceive, this episode may not be for you. If you're open to taking measure in the breeder mentality, then have a listen.
And I want to stress that I'm antinatalist for my own personal reasons and do not judge people for their beliefs or choices. I'm fully aware we all have our own journey in this life and I do not have answers for anyone but myself - and sometimes not even that. I put this podcast out into the ether in hopes it reaches those who need to hear it and misses those who do not.
