Idling In The Impala | a ride through SPN fandom and fanfiction

We’re professionals! At least, if we say that to ourselves long enough, we might actually tulpa it into existence, right? Seriously, though, we have a lot of opinions on many topics. Here’s where we shit on everything! Buckle up! It’s a long ride, you may need a pee break!

Thank goodness Karlee doesn’t have to carry the weight of Sam all by themselves for this episode! We couldn’t think of anyone better to help out than Tumblr/AO3 author Lou, better known around the fandom fanfic parts as There Must Be A Lock! We’ve shouted out some of Lou’s work in previous episodes and for good reason. She’s here to discuss her love of Supernatural and getting deep into Sam (The Soulless, The Shame, and The Sadist)... with a little sprinkle of Dean.

Sandra and Karlee got to chatting about writing. What inspires them? How do they actually wrangle all those smutty and pesky plot ideas? And what the heck does one do when a character will not do as they’re told?

Sandra and Karlee can get sidetracked pretty easily. This episode is filled with outtakes that we think you might enjoy. Enjoy the madness and mayhem, from manly smells to ripping on Fifty Shades and everything in between.

Beyond excited to get to chat with one of the most talented SPN FanFic authors out there! MJ (known on tumblr and AO3 as Thoughts Like a Minefield and Incog_Ninja) talked about how she got into Supernatural, writing FanFic, and so much more. We couldn’t stop fanning ourselves, y’all! She is the Queen of Dean One Shots and for good reason.

We obviously didn’t learn our lesson the first time we compared our most and least favorite episodes for the first five seasons of Supernatural, because we’re at it again for seasons 6 through 10.

We heard from a fan of the podcast! The lovely Anna shared her thoughts on all our ranting and put in a fanfic request. We obliged! In this episode, listen to our brainstorming for the story and the final result!

Off-topic and not SPN-focused rant: Is it just us or is the world turning into a dumpster fire of galactic proportions? We're feeling a little lost and trying to find some ways to make a difference.
