Every year around College Bowl time the conversation bubbles up.  Big 10 vs Pac 10 vs SEC.  After so many years of less than stellar performances, let's just call it what it is.  Big 10 is good.  That's it.  Not great.  If you want to know more about how  I come to that conclusion, then be sure to listen up today.   Let's end this annual discussion.

Seriously now.  If you or I had acted the way Kyrie Irving is acting, we would no longer have our jobs. We get paid, we go to work and we support our "team" ...our company, our fellow workers, right?  So why does the NBA allow this sort of behavior to continue?  Why do these players the team so desperately needs for many reasons, get to simply disappear?  What's with Kyrie anyhow?  C'mon, if you need help, get it and we'll all understand but this just not showing up is unacceptable.  Enough already Kyrie.  Time to play ball.  Show up.  And the same for the league.  Stop it already.  Get control of your players and hold them accountable.  I've got more to say about it all in today's rant.

You know I could go on forever about the value of sports and it's impact on so many things, including life in general.  I have a particular story that I want to share for it's value in so many ways that began with a parking space and led to a lifelong relationship for two families that just happen to be Alabama fans.  One of those families also happens to be the family of Jordan Battle of the University of Alabama football program.  You have to hear the story of how this relationship occurred and what incredible people his parents are.  It truly is one remarkable story that really highlights the value of sports to bring people together.  And, for me, I was the fortunate one to be able to hear the story firsthand from those who created it.  It is truly unbelievable.  I hope you enjoy it!

Just days ago I ranted about the lunacy of Marvin Bagley's father tweeting about trading his son and harping on Luke Walton,  the Kings' coach.  And then De'Aaron Fox's father chiming in and then De'Aaraon having to get a last word in.  And the Kings were playing well.  That was then and this is now.  Marvin looks like he's forgotten something in the locker room and the team has been embarrassed by both the Toronto Raptors and setting a franchise record for points against an opponent for the Trailblazers.  I thought I was watching men play boys at times.  Sporadic hustle, little heart and certainly a lack of demonstrated determined team play.  What the heck is going on in that locker room?  Good thing fans aren't allowed in as the few who chose to go see them play would have certainly been booing at points in each of these last two games.  It's also a good thing the arena is empty now.  It might be that way when they re-open if something doesn't change and change soon.

Why does a losing coach get to call the shots?  I don't care what his name is or what he wants to do going forward, make a decision and let everybody get on with it.  Why is Jim Harbaugh dealing with the Michigan Wolverines like this.  Enough already.  He needs a deadline so everyone else can move on, with or without him.  Let's talk about this shall we?

Chris, it's too late.  Your teammates from Michigan have already spoken about the Fab Five.  There have been numerous stories told and videos made already.  Problem is you just refused to participate when you had the chance to join in with the guys and set the stories straight.  But you can't for some reason and now, 30+ year's later, you're finally going to tell your story?  How about you just apologize and move on?   There's no secret here.  I'm sorry but this is one mini-series I'll not be able to watch.

What happens when you say something that is technically correct, then completely misguided by someone on social media?  If you're Doug Adler, you lose your job, your career, your voice and damn near your life.  Doug's story is a frightening one for anyone in the media with a microphone in front of them.  Describing play by Venus Williams at the Australian open in 2017 did it.  Now nearly three years later, ESPN has settled with him.  His story is one that should be told over and over.   "Branded" incorrectly as a racist, hear how he has grown from the experience and how one horribly incorrect and even malicious tweet destroyed so much of what he worked so long  to build.

Maybe you haven't heard but this past Sunday the Eagles could have, should have won the game.  But they didn't.  And that meant the New York Giants didn't get to the playoffs.  The Giants didn't deserve to be there anyway but that's not the point.  Pulling Jalen Hurts from the game is and boy do I have something to say about it in my rant today.
