There aren't too many guys that are still playing in the NFL at the age of 38 and still at the top of their game after 16 years. Robbie Gould has played for the New England Patriots, the Chicago Bears, and currently the San Francisco Forty-Niners. He also had a shorter stint in Baltimore and with the New York Giants. He is one of the those guys that has not only been able to survive in the league but thrive. Today on the podcast we'll get to hear how his success came to be, how he deals with the success and the failures in every game and what his expectations are for the future when it's time to give it up. I think you're going to enjoy joining in on our conversation.

That's right. I hear more people rave and boast about the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team than most other collegiate sports programs. So here's a taste of what I rant about today. John Calipari has won one, yes, count them, one National Championship at Kentucky in the last decade. Yes, lots of great players but only one championship. How would that fly let's say, in Alabama? Hey, 'Bama fans, at least we've been to the dance 4 times. We just didn't win. Nah, that's not going to work now is it? Hear what else I've got to say today in my rant.

Bill Belichick's longtime significant other decides to make some comments on social media about Tom Brady and his team's win over New Orleans. And then gets hammered for what she sent out. And then tries to clarify. How about everyone's boyfriend, girlfriend, significant other, family member, husband or wife just let the actual person speak for themselves? And if they choose not to comment or get socially engaged, that's their prerogative. Everyone else please do us all a favor and stay out of it. It's none of your business. More on today's rant.

Kurt Warner, former St. Louis Rams, Arizona Cardinals and NY Giants quarterback wants to see the NFL playoff games played in closed environments. Not on the natural turf of the teams that play in the frozen tundra. Really Kurt? And take the playoff game away from the fans that support their home team? Take the team away from home field advantage? The NFL is meant to be played outside on whatever turf that team plays on in their city. This is a crazy proposition for those reasons alone but I've got even a few more in my rant today. Check it out.

How about that! The Sacramento Kings not only set a franchise record for the most average points allowed on defense but it's also a league record as well. That's right, the Kings have the #1 absolute worst defensive rating of any team in the NBA, ever. Way to go guys. Oh, but De'Aaaron Fox had a career high 43 points. They still lost. Who cares how many points De'Aaron had? Pretty soon, nobody is going to care about who had how many points if they don't figure out how to stop teams like the New Orleans Pelicans from beating them. Yeah, I've got a little more to say in my rant today. Check it out.

Did you know Reggie Theus was not only a basketball recruit but played football and baseball with the same vigor and passion that he did as basketball? From his college days at University Nevada Las Vegas to his professional start in basketball in Chicago with Jerry Sloan, Reggie gives a great perspective on his career. He was one of a kind during his days on the court and he continues today in his own unique way. I think you'll enjoy our conversation today. I know we sure had fun with it.

What is going on with Houston sports? First it was James Harden with the Houston Rockets and now that the soap opera has ended and he's a temporarily happy camper in Brooklyn with the Nets, up pops Deshaun Watson. Yeah, that Deshaun Watson. Franchise quarterback for the Houston Texans. He wants out. This is one special player you do not want to lose if you're a Houston football fan. But it's not looking pretty for the Texans. I have a little more to say about it on today's rant.

Scot Pollard, former Sacramento King and Indiana Pacer talks with Grant about his perspective on today's NBA and the attitudes and behavior of players in the league. The conversation goes in a variety of directions that you may not have expected as they reflect on how players were when Scot played versus how they are today. There are many differences but you'll be surprised to hear the similarities as well.

As promised, today is a sort of rant off between Zack and John. Zack goes off on the NBA and the crazy Covid protocols and John gets after the Cleveland Browns. Both did a good job but let me know what you think too. We'll be doing it again so let's see who can bring it. I look forward to your comments!

As you know, I've been ranting on James Harden for over a month. The Houston Rockets may now be a better team because of his moving to the Brooklyn Nets. I hope so. Now he can see what he can do to disrupt another already challenged team. He's going to get to play with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Well, at least Durant. We know where he is on game night. Isn't it clear to league leadership that players are going to demand the teams operate around what they want vs the other way around if they don't get their arms around this mess? Let's talk about it for a minute today.
