Chima J. Korieh is a professor in the History department at Marquette University who specializes in West African social and economic history in the 19th and 20th centuries, gender relations, and comparative slavery. Dr. Korieh has a Masters in Education degree from the University of Helsinki in Finland, a Masters of Philosophy degree in History from the University of Bergen, Norway, and a PhD from the University of Toronto. He was a British Academy Fellow at Oxford University in 2008.
