From Kenya to Melbourne, Vincent Tshaka Tshaks has mastered the art of standup comedy - and all thanks to one golden rule: NEVER perform comedy when people are wanting to grind up against each other. To hear the context of that statement, listen to our conversatrion with him via the link below.
In Joke - we're serious about comedy
We've interviewed some pretty extrordinary people on this show - Arj Barker, Rod Quantock, Susan Provan, Colin Lane, Sara Pascoe and Sammy J (can someone help me pick up these names?), but nevertheless I think it's fair to say that the chance to speak to Danny McGinlay, banner writer for the now PREMIERSHIP team, the Western Bulldogs, was one of the most excting times on the program.
When our producer isn't getting up to his normal routine of trying to run In Joke, and forgetting the social media passwords, he sometimes hosts a terrific program for new presenters, Room With A View, on SYN's adult equivelant, Triple RRR 102.7 FM - where this interview was recoreded. Listen to Room With A View every Monday from 12:00-1:00 PM.
(PS. Please note that this interview was recorded BEFORE the dog's heroic win, so don't freak out and think you've gone back in time if some of the information isn't up to date). Now, here's Danny McGinlay!

In Joke - we're serious about comedy
The mystery club reviewer has struck again! Last week, a Fanta bottle floated down the babbling brook that happens to run behind the SYN studios, and inside we found a note, which read: 'In the field with flowers two, you will find the second clue'. After hours of searching through hundreds of paddocks across the land, we finally found one with only two flowers in it, not far from Horesham. There, we were accosted by a mysterious figure in a dark cloak, who handed us a small desk fan and disappeared into a plume of smoke. When switched to the right speed, the fan displayed letters that we were able to translate into a feature on Quick Bites Comedy, of which an audio clip can be found via the link below.

In Joke is now two degrees of seperation from Maggie Beer! Thanks to our interview with Fringe personality, Ruben, who's talk show once hosted as a guest! Isn't that something?
In Joke - we're serious about comedy
Yep, you read that correctly - In Joke spoke directly to an Australian musical comedy institution, Sammy J! This man is the Jimi Hendrix of comedy, or the Barry Humphreys of music! He's done well for a man who spends all his time with a purple puppet named Randy.
In Joke - we're serious about comedy
We speak to a man who plans to walk on the sun, visits bakeries at 2 AM, and who names all of his shows after things in video games. And no, it's not David Bowie

We always knew Geoff was sketchy - right from the moment he began writing and recording sketches and handing them in to be played on the program. Without meaning to spoil, this first Geoff's Sketch is about a remarkable moment in every person's life, finally being caught on live radio...

It's hard to ignore the phenomena that is video-on-demand services. Whether it's Netflix, Stan, Presto, or some other streaming site, VODs have drastically changed the way we consume - and produce - television. But what does this mean for comedy? Does it help or hinder modern makers of comedy? In this segment, we ponder these very questions, and very little else.
