EP. 650 opens with a tribute to longtime Lakers PA announcer Lawrence Tanter, which quickly turns into a campaign to get Rudy Jay to apply for the job. Mike checks in from Hawaii while handling dad duty, and the crew gets ready for Spurs Media Day before diving into another packed show.

The biggest sports conversation centers on Victor Wembanyama landing at No. 2 on ESPN’s NBA ranking, behind Nikola Jokić and ahead of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Dončić and Giannis Antetokounmpo. That means no American players in the Top 5, leading to a bigger conversation about international basketball development, Wemby's two-way impact and just how quickly the Spurs could get back to championship contention.

The Cowboys are 1-1 after two weeks, but Mike and Rudy still have plenty of questions about what this team actually is, especially on defense. Now Dallas heads to Rio de Janeiro to face the Baltimore Ravens, and neither guy loves the idea of playing a meaningful NFL game overseas.

The biggest concern is a Cowboys defense that still hasn't shown enough through two games. Dallas improved against Washington, but the guys point out that Jayden Daniels was causing problems before leaving the game. Now that same defense has to deal with Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and Baltimore, while Dak Prescott and the Cowboys offense may have to carry an even bigger load.

The Cowboys got the Week 2 win they needed, but In the Shed EP. 2 is all about what Dallas still hasn't proven. The offense has shown plenty with Dak Prescott, but the defense, pass rush and running game have serious questions to answer, and facing Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in Brazil isn't exactly an easy place to find those answers.

Mike joins the show from Hawaii while on dad duty, but vacation mode doesn't last long. He discovers Holly Rowe blocked him on X following his comments about the ongoing Arch Manning controversy, sending the guys into a long discussion about the reaction to Arch, Mike's criticism of how the situation has lingered and why he believes the young quarterback may become much more guarded with the media going forward.

Then it's back to sports. Dylan Harper lands at No. 50 in the ESPN ranking discussed on the show, leading to another debate about just how good the young Spur can become. The guys also revisit Sean Payton accusing Seattle of gaining an unfair advantage from publicly available practice footage, talk NFL injuries, check out one of the strangest Dylan Harper cards imaginable and somehow find plenty of time for bathroom and bowel-movement conversation.

EP. 649 goes from a serious conversation about Holly Rowe, Arch Manning and media reaction straight into Dylan Harper hype, Garbage Pail Kids, NFL paranoia and way too much bathroom talk. The big Spurs takeaway is simple: Harper is already getting national recognition before his career has really gotten rolling, and the guys are clearly buying the hype.

Mike is out traveling, which leaves Rudy and Pelón running the building, and naturally things get off track immediately. What starts as a conversation about sleeping, getting older and staying active somehow turns into Pelón defending his pickleball skills and Rudy confidently declaring that he can walk onto the advanced court and beat him. Now there's money on the table, wives are getting dragged into it, and an official ITB pickleball showdown might actually have to happen.

Eventually they find the sports. The Rams beat the Giants 28-6, Jackson Dart goes down, and Pelón celebrates going 4-1 against the spread to win the weekly ITB picks. The Survivor Pool is down to eight after another brutal weekend, Rudy hands out slices of humble pie around the NFL and Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb gets some love for firing back at fans who gave up on the team early.

With Mike gone for the day, Rudy and Pelón turn EP. 648 into a mix of NFL chaos, media talk and classic ITB nonsense. Pelón gets bragging rights after winning the picks, the Survivor Pool is almost dead already, Ryan Grubb gets his flowers and the biggest unresolved question coming out of the show might be whether Rudy can actually back up all that pickleball trash talk.

The Cowboys morning after starts with some love for Dak Prescott. They're still waiting for postseason success, but Mike argues Cowboys fans can appreciate what Dak is doing without comparing every quarterback to Tom Brady or every season to the glory days.

Then it's football chaos everywhere. The ITB Survivor Pool gets massacred, Mike renounces his Baker Mayfield fandom, the against-the-spread competition comes down to Monday Night Football, and the guys rip through the NFL in the 2-Minute Drill. On the college side, Texas A&M catches serious heat, Lane Kiffin gets a hostile reception in Oxford, and Mike and Rudy say Jeff Traylor deserves far more respect for what he's built and sustained at UTSA.

EP. 647 is basically a reminder that nobody knows anything two weeks into football season. The Survivor Pool is wrecked, preseason assumptions are already falling apart, and the Cowboys suddenly feel a lot better at 1-1. But one thing Mike and Rudy are willing to plant a flag on: considering what he continues to do with the resources available at UTSA, they're done listening to the Jeff Traylor disrespect.

The Cowboys needed this one. After spending the week calling Cowboys-Commanders about as close to a Week 2 must-win as you can get, Dallas responds with a 37-20 win at Jerry World. Mike and Rudy react to Dak Prescott's huge afternoon, CeeDee Lamb reminding everybody he's WR1, signs of improvement from Christian Parker's defense and Dallas getting back to 1-1 before heading to Brazil.

But this was a strange game to evaluate after Jayden Daniels suffered another serious-looking elbow injury before halftime. The guys debate how much his absence changed the game, question Washington's handling of its quarterback and discuss a controversial replay decision that went against the Commanders. Meanwhile, Dallas still has plenty to clean up, particularly a running game that produced only 66 total yards.

It wasn't perfect, and Jayden Daniels' injury makes the final score harder to evaluate, but the Cowboys got exactly what they needed: a win. Dak Prescott was outstanding, CeeDee Lamb took over, the defense looked better and Dallas avoided an 0-2 start in the NFC East. Now the Cowboys take a 1-1 record to Brazil for a fascinating matchup with Baltimore, and In the Shed will be back immediately afterward to break it all down.

San Antonio Zoo CEO Tim Morrow joins the guys for an extended conversation about everything from gorillas and rhinos to conservation work in Africa and Peru, the zoo's massive transformation, its school programs, future expansion and even his willingness to help keep NIOSA alive.

Then it turns into a more familiar ITB circus. The guys make their football picks, drink a little zoo-branded whiskey, attempt some truly questionable animal impressions and get into People I Want to Punch. There's also Cowboys-Commanders talk, UTSA-Texas, Texas Tech-Houston, Arch Manning, Lane Kiffin using ChatGPT in a legal fight, Deion Sanders, the Belichicks and Bills-Lions.

Taking ITB out of the studio turned EP. 646 into exactly what it should've been. Gorillas, rhinos, whiskey, football picks, animal noises and a fascinating conversation with Tim Morrow about where the San Antonio Zoo has been and where it's going next. Zoo Week delivered, and now the show heads into its next chapter with Members Only Fridays and more Cowboys coverage on In the Shed.

Mike, Rudy and Pelón are back home after spending the night at the San Antonio Zoo’s Spekboom Lodge, and apparently sleeping in the same room teaches you a lot about your coworkers. Pelón turned the room into a freezer, Rudy claimed the king-size bed, Mike battled the cold with multiple blankets, and the guys woke up surrounded by giraffes and zebras before getting the chance to feed the gorillas. The full zoo experience is still rolling, with another show coming from the zoo.

Then the show takes a hard turn into San Antonio news after the guys react to the announcement that NIOSA will not happen in 2027. That sparks a lengthy and heated conversation about the city budget, Fiesta traditions, local businesses, Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones and what the guys believe San Antonio should prioritize. They also get into What You Watching Wednesday before closing with Emmitt Smith saying Derrick Henry has the durability to potentially make a run at his NFL rushing record.

EP. 645 starts with frozen toes, beer farts, giraffes and gorillas and somehow ends in a full-scale debate over the future of San Antonio. Throw in Derrick Henry chasing Emmitt Smith, What You Watching Wednesday and the looming Members Only era, and Zoo Week continues to deliver exactly the kind of chaos you'd expect from ITB.

It’s officially Zoo Week, and tonight Mike, Rudy and Pelón are spending the night at the San Antonio Zoo’s Spekboom Lodge. More importantly, the results are in from the first weekend of ITB football picks. Rudy wins the tiebreaker and claims the only king-size bed, leaving Mike and Pelón to figure out the rest of the sleeping arrangements.

Before heading to the zoo, the guys have plenty to get into. The Cowboys’ defense has Mike already looking at Washington as an enormous early-season game, the Panthers spark a debate about how athletes should act after a loss, and Sean Payton’s decision to hand over play-calling duties gets questioned after Denver’s ugly night. Then things get weird with a potential Schottenheimer Halloween costume, a $50 million judgment involving Floyd Mayweather’s daughter, Jason Kelce fatigue, James Franklin getting punched and the growing controversy involving Robert Kraft and Macklemore.

Rudy has the king bed, Mike might be going as Schottenheimer for Halloween, the Cowboys desperately need to get their defense together, and somehow Macklemore and Robert Kraft are beefing before the guys spend the night surrounded by zoo animals. Zoo Week is officially underway, and EP. 644 is only the beginning.

A night after launching the first In the Shed Cowboys Post-Game Show, Mike and Rudy revisit Dallas’ ugly loss to the Giants with slightly cooler heads. The verdict hasn’t changed much. The defense was terrible, Christian Parker’s unit couldn’t adjust, and the guys believe Brian Schottenheimer and his staff got thoroughly outcoached by John Harbaugh and the Giants. Dallas now has to turn around quickly with another division game against Washington coming up.

Then it’s around the football world. Texas is No. 1 in the AP poll after its comeback against Ohio State, the ITB Survivor Pool gets absolutely slaughtered, and the guys fly around a ridiculous weekend of NFL results. Rudy also discovers that watching an entire tennis match is actually pretty damn fun after sitting through Ben Shelton’s U.S. Open final.

The Cowboys have problems, Texas is sitting at No. 1, the NFL has already destroyed nearly half the Survivor Pool, and now a king-size bed at the zoo is riding on Monday Night Football. Just another completely normal week around here.
