Welcome to In the Shed, the new Cowboys postgame show presented by The Shedfather. This is not a conventional episode of In the Building. Mike and Rudy are jumping on after Cowboys games all season to react while everything is still fresh, and unfortunately the first one begins with Dallas getting handled 28-20 by the New York Giants.
The biggest problem is obvious: the Cowboys defense was awful. New York piled up 29 first downs and possessed the football for 37 minutes, leaving Dak Prescott and the Dallas offense with only 23 minutes to work. The guys get into Christian Parker’s debut as defensive coordinator, Brian Schottenheimer’s leadership, John Harbaugh’s immediate impact on the Giants, Jackson Dart’s impressive night and the same old Cowboys problems with penalties and discipline.
The first night in the Shed was supposed to be about starting a new Cowboys tradition. Instead, it became group therapy after Dallas’ defense got pushed around for four quarters. It’s only Week 1, but if the Cowboys want this season to become anything close to what Mike predicted, Christian Parker, Brian Schottenheimer and that defense have a whole lot to fix.

Welcome to a one-off Saturday night postgame show after a wild day of college football. (Maybe more to come?) The main event is Texas somehow finding a way back from a 20-3 halftime hole to beat Ohio State 24-23. Mike and Rudy admit they thought it was basically over, then watched the entire game flip as Texas controlled the second half and Arch Manning went from struggling badly to delivering when the Longhorns absolutely had to have him.
The guys also get into Steve Sarkisian’s play calling, Texas finding success by running the football, Ohio State fading in the Austin heat and the Longhorn defense holding the Buckeyes to just three second-half points. Plus, Rudy checks in after watching UTSA beat Texas State in a brutally hot rivalry game, Pelón continues his transformation into an actual football fan, and the guys look ahead to UTSA visiting Texas next week.
Texas went from getting run off its own field to delivering one of the biggest wins of the Sark and Arch era. UTSA handled its rivalry business against Texas State, the Longhorns survived Ohio State, and now those two winners are headed toward each other next week. Not bad for an unofficial, completely unplanned ITB Saturday night postgame show.

Episode 642 takes a more serious turn as the guys reflect on the 25th anniversary of September 11. Mike, Rudy and John remember where they were when the attacks happened, the fear and uncertainty that followed, and how 9/11 continues to affect them decades later. Mike revisits Tom Junod’s The Falling Man and the haunting mystery surrounding the unidentified man in the famous photograph.
Mike also tells the story of Welles Crowther, the Man in the Red Bandana, the former Boston College lacrosse player who repeatedly went back to help people escape the World Trade Center. Then the show shifts back to football, where Mike, Rudy and John make their weekend picks with something important on the line: the winner gets the big bed when the crew spends the night at the San Antonio Zoo.
Episode 642 balances one of the show’s most reflective conversations with a return to what Mike, Rudy and John love doing: arguing about football. The stories of The Falling Man and Welles Crowther put the 25th anniversary of 9/11 into perspective before the guys turn their attention to a huge football weekend, Cowboys-Giants and a very important question: who gets the damn bed at the zoo?

Episode 641 opens with football officially back and the ITB Survivor Pool locked in at 26 entries and a $1,300 pot. Mike compares Drake Maye’s brutal late-game mistakes to the Tony Romo experience, the guys talk about how quickly NFL predictions can fall apart once injuries hit, and they look ahead to Cowboys-Giants and the debut of the new In the Shed Cowboys postgame show presented by The Shedfather.
Then the show goes full Throwback Thursday. Mike breaks out a 1986 Little League photo featuring questionable ages, sleeveless coaches, red cleats and enough material to keep Rudy and Pelón busy for a while. From there, it’s John Harbaugh taking control of the New York media, the increasingly insane state of sports, an update on the late influencer “Tiny,” and two major ITB announcements involving Members Only Fridays and Zoo Week at the San Antonio Zoo.
Episode 641 starts with Drake Maye giving Mike PTSD from the Tony Romo years and ends with the show preparing to sleep overnight at the zoo. Somewhere in between there’s 1986 Little League, John Harbaugh fighting the New York media, Cowboys confidence, penis injections and a $1,300 Survivor Pool. In other words, a pretty normal episode of In the Building.

Episode 640 is all about getting ready for football season. Mike and Rudy make their official NFL predictions, including division winners, playoff teams, Super Bowl matchups and how far the Cowboys can go. They also make one final push for the ITB Survivor Pool, with a $50 entry, winner-take-all format and weekly picks managed through Ready AI.
The guys also get into the influencer controversy at the US Open, debate whether tennis needs to embrace a new audience without sacrificing etiquette, and revisit the Spurs’ De’Aaron Fox situation after Dylan Harper says there is no friction between them. College football Quick Kicks bring Arch Manning’s tunnel tumble, Houston’s H-Town entrance, Lane Kiffin’s trolling, Gary Patterson’s USC defense and a new official ITB college football player.
The predictions are officially locked in, and now Mike and Rudy have to live with them. Mike is riding with Detroit and Cincinnati, Rudy is backing the Rams and Chiefs, and both see a playoff season ahead for Dallas. Meanwhile, the Spurs’ guard situation remains one of the biggest stories heading into basketball season, with Harper’s development and Fox’s role giving the guys plenty to argue about once the games begin.

Episode 639 starts with Mike and Rudy admitting they are elite-level procrastinators, which turns into a very real problem because the ITB NFL Survivor Pool needs entries immediately. The guys lay out the rules, explain the $50 buy-in, and start getting people into the pool before moving into a packed football conversation with the NFL season finally getting underway.
The biggest Cowboys news is Tyler Smith, who is expected to miss multiple weeks after thumb surgery. Mike and Rudy question why Dallas waited so long to address it, but remain confident in the offensive line depth and continue to notice a larger trend: the Cowboys suddenly look like a team making serious football decisions. That includes Von Miller getting No. 40 after Hunter Luepke reportedly received equity in Miller’s Greener Pastures business, plus Dallas restructuring contracts to create cap flexibility.
Football season is finally here, and Episode 639 feels like the show fully shifting into NFL mode. The Cowboys lose Tyler Smith for a stretch, but Mike and Rudy are still increasingly bullish on how Dallas is being run, Von Miller’s arrival keeps getting more interesting, and the return of Jacob Tobey gives San Antonio another storyline to argue about before Spurs season even begins.

Episode 638 gets right into football season with Mike and Rudy looking ahead to the college games that have their attention, including Colorado at Georgia Tech, Texas vs. Texas State and LSU vs. Clemson. Deion Sanders needs a bounce-back year, Arch Manning gets a chance to settle in before Ohio State, and the contrast between Lane Kiffin and Dabo Swinney turns into a bigger conversation about adapting to the new world of college football.
Then things get heated over the Clippers. The show discusses major penalties tied to the Kawhi Leonard situation, with Mike and Rudy blasting Steve Ballmer while Mike argues Kawhi can't keep distancing himself from the people handling his business. The guys also get into the Cowboys bringing Joe Milton back, Stephen Jones' comments about paying two elite receivers, Bill Simmons admitting he had someone place bets for him in another state, the Jackals' 18-and-over rule, and Texas Cheer Liquor's UTSA tailgate plans.
Football season has officially arrived, but Kawhi still knows how to hijack a San Antonio sports show. Episode 638 moves from the Clippers controversy and Kawhi's responsibility to a Cowboys roster Mike is increasingly buying into, college football games worth watching, Bill Simmons' betting mistake and a very San Antonio argument over who should be allowed into the Jackals. With ITB Cowboys postgames around the corner and UTSA tailgates getting underway, the fall sports calendar is finally loaded.

Episode 637 starts with big Spurs broadcasting news as Mike, Rudy and Pelón react to the team's move to DAZN for local games. That immediately becomes a conversation about streaming costs, the mess of regional sports networks, how fans are supposed to find their teams, and whether the NBA eventually needs to take greater control of local broadcasts. The guys also announce a major branding change of their own: Love You Hard TV is gone as the digital channel name, and everything is officially under the In The Building brand.
From there, Tiger Woods' court appearance leads to a bigger conversation about his struggles and trying to find some peace away from golf. The show also celebrates San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame inductees including Frank Harris, Tameka Roberts-Nuñez and James Feigen, while USC's attendance controversy refuses to die. Lincoln Riley pushes back on the criticism, but Mike isn't letting him completely off the hook. And the show closes with a heated college football rant over whether players who still have eligibility should be allowed to return to college after pursuing the NFL.
Episode 637 mixes some genuinely important San Antonio sports developments with classic ITB chaos. The Spurs' move to DAZN changes how local fans will watch Wemby and company, San Antonio's sports history gets its flowers, Tiger's latest troubles spark a serious conversation, and Lincoln Riley gives Mike another reason to keep the USC debate alive. Then college football's changing business model sends the show completely off the rails before the finish.

Episode 636 starts with some college football trash talk after Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed calls out Texas well before the rivalry game. Mike and Rudy love the confidence, even if it blows up in his face. From there, the show gets into the guilty verdict in the Tupac Shakur murder case and the bizarre path that eventually helped authorities build the case decades after Tupac's death.
Then it's money, fandom and questionable financial decisions. A report saying nearly half of sports fans who spend money on their fandom have taken on debt sparks a bigger conversation about ticket prices, travel, concerts, Spurs games and whether experiences are worth spending serious money on. The Cowboys also continue tweaking their roster, adding former TCU running back Emari Demercado to the practice squad while Mike keeps getting more optimistic about Dallas heading into the season.
This one goes exactly where an ITB episode should go. It starts with Aggies trash talk, takes a serious turn into the Tupac murder verdict and the financial reality of being a hardcore sports fan, checks in on the Cowboys, celebrates PBR's handling of a beer heist, and somehow finishes with Rudy giving relationship-based fitness advice. Football season is here, and the chaos is already in midseason form.

The Cowboys keep making moves, and Mike likes what he's seeing. Dallas trades a third-round pick for offensive tackle Broderick Jones, putting Terrence Steele on notice and adding another option to an offensive line that still has questions. Combine that with the Cowboys' recent willingness to make tough roster decisions, and Mike says this organization has been acting more and more like a legitimate football operation. He's even still leaning toward picking Dallas to win the NFC East.
Then Rudy comes in hot with a declaration: California is a terrible sports state. USC's rough-looking crowd for its opener becomes Exhibit A in a bigger debate about Los Angeles sports fans, fair-weather fandom and why USC needs to win before Southern California fully cares again. That eventually leads into the Rams, where Aaron Donald is back, making an already loaded team look even scarier. And at the end of the show, Mike, Rudy and Pelón finally reveal the big announcement: ITB is launching Cowboys postgame shows after every game this season, presented by The Shedfather.
Episode 635 feels like the unofficial kickoff to football season. Mike is buying into what the Cowboys are building, Rudy is already fighting with an entire state over its sports fans, Aaron Donald makes the Rams even more dangerous, and ITB is adding a whole new layer of Cowboys coverage. Every Cowboys game, win or lose, Mike, Rudy and Pelón will be there afterward to break it down.
