El grup Caravan formava part de l'anomenada escena de Canterbury, que feien, a finals dels 60, una mena de rock progressiu amb aportacions jazzístiques i psicodèliques. La seva obra més cèlebre és "In the land of grey and pink", del 1971, després de la qual el grup va canviar de membres amb molta facilitat, i a dia d'avui encara funciona una reencarnació seva.
