Governments across the country have filed lawsuits in both state and federal courts against drug distributors and manufacturers. In Illinois, several suburban counties, including DuPage and Will counties, have filed lawsuits of their own. Morning Shift continues its look into the opioid crisis across Chicago and the lawsuit filed this week with Dr. Julie Morita, commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health.

We’ve had most of the candidates for those offices taking questions from us or from listeners. But there are plenty of other hotly contested primaries happening in a few weeks, including those for Congress. We talk about the personalities and the issues involved in the state’s 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th congressional districts.
