  • Jim DeRogatis Alone Led Investigation Into Allegations Against R. Kelly
There aren’t many investigative stories that occupy a journalist for almost 20 years. But it’s been about that long that Sound Opinions co-host and former Chicago Sun-Times rock critic Jim DeRogatis has been reporting allegations of sexual abuse against R&B star R. Kelly.  The Sun-Times published its first story on Kelly in 2000, and DeRogatis’ most recent reporting was this summer, when he reported on parents who allege Kelly has been holding their daughters in a cult. Morning Shift talks to DeRogatis about the 20-year journey of the story and some of the less-than-normal complications he faced for this particular topic.
