Ariane is a singer-songwriter, author and activist. Born in Munich, German-Argentinian, studied IR & English Literature in Aberdeen, won the Welcome to Europe Songcontest with her single Tolerance one week after graduating, hosted 3 TEDx talk on climate change and women empowerment.
She moved to México in 2018, where she founded the Fridays For Future movement. After visiting a coffee-growing community in Chiapas, south of Mexico, and seeing the devastating effects of climate change with her own eyes, she founded an initiative "Proyecto Café" with baristas, coffee dealers, and café owners in Aguascalientes to promote the fair and conscious consumption of Mexican coffee in and beyond Mexico. She has recently published her first book '100 Ways to speak of Love', available on Amazon as eBook and Paperback. In 2016 Laura left behind Germany to study abroad in Scotland. Madi Sharma is someone I had the pleasure of meeting during the WFWP conference zoom series on work-life balance and feminine leadership where I was moderator.
She is the founder and award-winning Entrepreneur behind the Madi Group - A group of private sector sole trader companies, and some not for profit organizations, with a philosophy to create innovative ideas tailored to local action which can achieve global impacts beneficial to society. Madi titles herself ‘Victim to Changemaker’ as her personal experience has taken her through the University of Life from a victim of domestic violence and single parent through to Entrepreneur and inspirational speaker. She established her first company from her kitchen at home, which grew to two factories and 35 staff. Today, Madi has been termed a ‘social capitalist’ as she invests profits from her work into advocacy and the empowerment of others. Madi has received the honours of Asian Woman of Achievement and UK’s Best Boss and as well as the Woman of the Decade – Entrepreneur and Leadership, All Ladies League Award. In May 2018, Madi was listed as one of the Apolitical’s 100 World Most Influential People in Gender Policy. She has authored her first book Madi No Excuses.
We get to hear Madi's motto for each day to make an impact in someone's life and where that came from. We get to hear her story: the path she chose to get her life back on track after leaving her abusive husband when she first began to honor who she truly is. Getting clear on what you want and believing in yourself and what you have to offer to the world is what is needed, NOT the flashy CV and so called qualifications. Madi is a testament to this.
