If Donald Trump and Kamala Harris tie in the number of electors, the race for the White House could come down to Omaha County, Nebraska's 2nd district. This is due to a specific feature of the state, which is one of only two – along with Maine – to allocate its electors by district and not purely at state level. While Nebraska may be very red, the 2nd district is more purple: the Democrats won it in 2008 and 2020. The outcome of this election, which promises to be extremely close, could be determined in this Midwestern “flyover" state. Fanny Allard and Fraser Jackson report.
