On this episode we sit down for a chat with Crazy Al. So a couple weeks ago, we bumped into Crazy Al at the Tiki Ti and turned the mics on. If you don't already know, Crazy Al is a sculpter, carver and artist who also fronts the band APE. We caught him after a couple cocktails so we were able to have a fun and spirited conversation about the origins of his band APE as well as how he got the moniker, Crazy Al!

Recorded over lunch at a local diner, today we sit down for a chat with Johnnie Velour. Johnnie Velour is a mug maker and ceramicist who has a rather unconventional approach when it comes to tiki mug making. On this episode we talk with Greg Bansuelo. Since 1961 the Tiki Ti has been an exclusively family owned and operated bar and in 2015, Greg broke that tradition and became the very first bartender and employee ever to be hired there. We talk about how this came to be, his bartending background as well as his father's bartending background who also helped usher in the early Tiki cocktail movement, having worked at many of the now famous Polynesian Pop Palaces of yesteryear including Don the Beachcomber, The Luau, The Seven Seas and The Tahitian!

On this episode we record live from the Tiki Wonderland holiday art show at the Tonga Hut in North Hollywood. If you've been there then you've probably seen a wall full of decorated name plaques next to a fountain fondly named, "The Drooling Bastard" and the names on this wall belong to a drinking club called, "The Loyal Order of Drooling Bastards." To become a member of this club you have to pass the challenge of drinking all 78 cocktails in Jeff Berry's, "The Grog Log" and do it within a 12 month time span.
