In this episode I discuss 2 words that have certainly strengthened my mind and given me the will power to keep moving forward and never giving up - Persist and Resist.

They come from the writings of the great Stoic, Epictetus: "If anyone would take 2 words to heart, and take pains to govern and watch over themselves by them, they will live an impeccable and immensely tranquil life! Those two words are Persist and Resist!"

Sp persist in your efforts despite any obstacles you may face, and resist the naysayers and the doubters and your own negative mind.

Today I Escaped From Anxiety - Marcus Aurelius!

In todays episode I wanted to share a couple of stories and thoughts on how anxiety, fear and stress, even depression are perceptions inside us.

When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change. That is a quote from Wayne Dyer. And its so true. When we change our paradigms (a paradigm is basically your perception of how you see life) then our life will change.

Here is the Marcus Aurelius quote that took me down this path for todays topic "Today I escaped from anxiety. Or no, I discarded it, because it was within me, in my own perceptions - not outside."

Don't Be Ashamed to Ask For Help! Marcus Aurelius.

In this episode I talk about this Marcus Aurelius quote:

"Don't be ashamed to need help. Like a soldier storming a wall, you have a mission to accomplish. And if you've been wounded and you need a comrade to pull you up? So what?"

So 2,000 years ago during the Roman Empire it was ok to ask for help. Yet why is it today that so many don't ask for help? We all need help in some way. Don't be ashamed to ask for help. There is always someone there. 

In this day and age the suicide rate has more than doubled because of Covid-19 and our States woeful leadership.

Now more than ever its ok to reach out and ask for help. Check in with family and friends and make sure they are ok. Let them know you are always there for them. Take care of you too!

If You Seek Tranquility, Do Less. Marcus Aurelius.

In this episode I dissect the following quote:

“If you seek tranquility, do less. Or (more accurately) do what’s essential. Do less, better. Because most of what we do or say is not essential. If you can eliminate it, you’ll have more tranquility. But to eliminate the necessary actions, we need to eliminate unnecessary assumptions as well.” — Marcus Aurelius

I love this quote. Get rid of distractions like Facebook, Instagram, your phone and focus on what is in front of you. Get it done in less time. Then you have more time for tranquility. 

If we only did what was essential and got rid of the fluff of our day we would be so much further ahead in life. Let me know if this quote resonates with you.
