Underachievement can be caused or affected by these factors:
work that is too easy or too difficultlack of opportunity to use one’s learning style or strengthslack of opportunity to pursue one’s passionsresistance to learning things that are arbitrary or irrelevant to one’s lifefear of being rejected for being differentlack of dreams or goals perceived to be attainablefamily interaction patterns that interfere with learningHere’s my definition of underachievement:
“The gap between a person’s gifts, talents, passions, and strengths and the results they really want to create in their lives.”
