Infertility is rising in the U.S.—now affecting about one in five couples trying to conceive.

She lays out a more proactive approach to understanding fertility and explains how it is closely tied to overall health, including the role of chronic inflammation and its impact on hormones, egg and sperm quality, and pregnancy outcomes.

The conversation also looks at factors that often don’t get much attention early on—sleep, stress, diet, and environmental exposures—as well as the role of male fertility, which accounts for roughly half of infertility cases. Crawford also discusses insulin resistance, cannabis use, and how both can affect fertility.
