In this interview, Heather Ensworth Ph. D. talks with her friend Claudia about how we can heal as humanity and come back into right relationship with the Earth. Claudia is an environmental humanist, academic, activist, and author who has written about, taught, and studied the topic of Black ecological and environmental thought from spiritual, ecological, and cultural perspectives. She is a gifted teacher, writer, artist and innovative thinker who integrates science, spirituality and her passion for justice and healing in all that she undertakes.
Her bio: Dr. Claudia J Ford has enjoyed a career in international management, development, and women’s health spanning four decades and all continents. Dr. Ford holds an undergraduate degree in biology, and graduate degrees in midwifery, business administration, creative writing and a PhD in Environmental Studies. She has been in academia for over twenty years and is currently Professor and Chair of the department of Environmental Studies at State University of New York at Potsdam. Dr. Ford conducts research and teaching in ethnobotany, indigenous knowledge, gender studies and the sacred feminine, sustainable agriculture, spiritual ecology, environmental justice, environmental writing and literature, and international business. She serves on the board of directors of the Soul Fire Farm Institute - committed to ending racism and injustice in the food system. Claudia is a visual artist and writer, and she has been so blessed to share the joys and adventures of her life with her four children and her grandchildren.
