Dr Helmut Crott is one of the few people in the world who can look through the Patek Philippe Museum catalog and point to the pieces he once owned or sold. For over fifty years, he has been a leading figure in the watch world. In the 1970s, he launched one of the first auction houses specializing in timepieces. By the 1990s, he had compiled one of the most important data bases on Patek Philippe, and remains today the expert that auction houses and dealers contact for help and advice. He has also written the definitive book on dials, and owned the historic watchmaker Urban Jürgensen. In this episode, Carlos Torres speaks with Dr Crott about his extraordinary life and important contribution to the watch industry.
