This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick is joined by Ariel, David, and Ripley (is Ripley sipping Scotch?) on U.S. Election Day. The subject of watches is more of a balm than surveying the political landscape, alas. Ripley is happy that he can now wear his Mondaine Stop-to-Go watch since most U.S. states have "fallen back" to standard time. Surprisingly, no one extended the metaphor to politics, but perhaps the polls hadn't closed yet. Getting down to business, the team starts right off with a review of ABTW's most-read article of the month, David's analysis of why we love to see giants fall. And by "giants," in this case, he means Patek Philippe and its rather smug leader, Thierry Stern. Listen in to learn what the fuss is all about. Then, there's a discussion of the slippery slope of "new old-stock," which Mike takes a solid position on in his recent column. They round the bend toward the finish line with Hit, Miss, Maybe: "the best wristwatch game there is" (Rick).
Here are the show notes. Do you have a title yet?
This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick is joined by Ariel, David, and Ripley, as per usual, and they start things off by discussing, um, time. How unusual! Well, the subject is the time changes in Europe and the U.S., which marginally has to do with watches, although, honestly, there's no segue except for a brief foray into those rare parts of the world that actually run on 30-minute time zone differentials. It all comes 'round.
One of the more interesting sidebars that awaits you is convo about the failures of AI when searching for watch info. Take heed!
The team gets down to business with an in-depth look at some of the watches we've covered this week, including the Glashütte Original Senator Cosmopolite watch. Next up, hear the guys' thoughts on the Patek Philippe Cubitus Watch, the brand's first new collection in 25 years. David is here in the flesh to discuss his most recent "Grinding Gears" feature article, and then they dip into the latest by Laurent Ferrier.
They wrap up with the game we've all come to want, need, crave: Hit Miss Maybe.

Show Notes To Follow.
This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick is joined by Ariel and David, while Ripley is conspicuously absent, and the three muse about his whereabouts. He's visiting a brand we've never worked with, in a country he's never visited. Maybe the mystery will be solved next week. Meanwhile, the remaining trio gets right to it with a discussion of the news that Rolex is out and LVMH is in with Formula 1. The thesis? It's all about the money. Rick can't keep himself from lol'ing that Donald Trump has upped his grifter game by introducing a line of watches.... for suckers. aBlogtoWatch won't cover this editorially, as it does nothing to advance our conversations about horology, or horology itself. Yeah, you know how this goes. In media news, Watches of Switzerland has acquired Hodinkee, and David artfully expresses that we've known the unknown for a long time — and now the known unknown is known. Listen in, you'll get it. As we've all come to anticipate, they wrap up with another fun round of Hit, Miss, Maybe.

This week on aBlogtoWatch Weekly, Rick is joined by Ariel, Ripley, and David, as per usual. After some chat about Jeff Goldblum's new show, Chaos, in which a certain Casio timepiece figures prominently, Ariel and Ripley explain why they're exhausted. They've just returned from Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California, where the brand debuted two new Apple Watch models. Because they drove up and back in a 12-hour round-trip loop, they were pooped. Nonetheless, they both had much to say about these two new watches, not to mention Apple's security system. David also discussed how some traditional watch brands frown upon watch media covering smartwatches at all — obviously, an interest for many of our readers. Moving on to a release at the opposite end of the spectrum, the team looks at the new Biver Automatique Watches, which Ariel thinks are "nice" in their design to be affordable. Ripley feels sure we'll see the same movement used in the Automatiques appear in other iterations in the near future. The guys have fun with this week's round of "Guess the Price of the Seiko," for which there's a $90,000 price gap among the guesses, so listen in to see who wins and who's way off base. As always, they end with a fun round of "Hit, Miss, Maybe."
