21. Let’s Talk About Oneness
‘Christians’ tend to get squirmy when you
approach the topic of Oneness.
Like it somehow detracts from God
when we transcend the false bravado of otherness.
What’s a higher honor than to follow
into God eternally as Spirit leads?
The inevitable singularity of Love
Whisper the mystics and the trees.
Let’s talk this through a little.
None of your beliefs have to change.
Let the grip on ideologies just wiggle.
Let Spirit tell of a faith with some range.
It’s hard to argue that ‘in Heaven’
We will see God… without the veil!
But where does the Almighty’s increased proximity falter
where does God’s eternal magnetism fail?
They say we will live in His city.
And I can’t imagine, just what that means?
What is described by “many mansions”*?
Or will it be more green?
But what I really want to know is where I will live?
How close will be my view?
How close will my street be to God’s street?
Or will I have to look for God
Will it be just rejoicing souls
lined up the length of galaxies?
Seas of separate Beings all made new?
I believe God’s pull is too mighty
and Christ’s outpouring love will one day undo
all the separateness life builds up.
In ‘Heaven’ there is no view.
Emersed in a “Christ-soaked existence”**,
without all this illusory game.
serving as our prison guards.
Or competitions, over preferences
that’ve become our chains.
from the concept of ‘otherness’?
Killed off the ego’s pride and joy, the separate-self.
Just allow for the potential of Oneness.
Leave the bailout of individual ‘rapture’…
leave it up on the shelf.
And instead receive the call to-together
to these problems we collectively caused.
But it becomes increasingly
separate self remains involved.
If instead we again see each tree and person
as an extension of a unified-true-self.
Suffering and bitterness will wither
as Christ’s-Consciousness grows bigger.
Oh wait, wait… I better slow down.
Tamp down my hope, it’s easy to trigger.
That I’ve wasted too much time
without even a point, I’m starting to fear.
And about these disjointed rambles
people will start to talk.
So, I’ll conclude by saying;
We need new eyes to see, new ears to hear
God and man do share life’s walk.
