Guest Whitney Beaty is the co-founder of Josephine and Billie’s, the first cannabis speakeasy in the U.S. Part store, part consumption lounge, the establishment will open in LA in September. It's a modern-day callback to the "tea pads" of the Jazz Age, in which Black communities in the 20s & 30s listened to music and enjoyed cannabis during the prohibition era. J&Bs is the first investment of The Parent Company, a joint venture between Jay Z, ROC Nation, Caliva, and Left Coast Ventures to support social equity corporate ventures.
