Shame is one of the most powerful human emotions. An emotion that can quickly become all-consuming.  

On some level, we’ve all experienced this type of feeling but for some of us, our shame because so paralyzing and so debilitating, it sucks all joy and peace from our lives. Secrets become buried so deep inside of us, we even try to hide them from ourselves.

These shameful secrets that live inside of us like invisible landmines waiting to detonate at the most important moments of our lives. Just as we are coming closer to that special someone, a voice in our head announces “if only they knew such a such about me, they’d never love me”. Or right after we get that big promotion at work or secure a lucrative business deal, the voice steps in to remind us that the only reason this is happening is because they don’t know who we really are.
