A lot of people in their lifetime will suffer from at least one form of addiction. Some are more obvious and widely spoken about while others carry a huge stigma so not openly discussed and so many suffer in silence. Today we will talk about pornography addiction, its negative impact on the lives of addicts, its prevalence among young children, and the journey to recovery.
Research suggests that the average age at which young people first encounter pornography is around 11 years old. A study published in the journal Pediatrics in 2011 found that around 42% of young people aged 10-17 had viewed pornography online.
Pornography addiction can have several negative effects on an individual's life. These can include:
- Distorted views on sex and relationships
- Decreased productivity
- Negative impact on mental health
- Strained relationships
- Legal problems
And many more!
