Irish Breakdown

Today's Rapid Fire topics include:

* Fill-in the blank....It’s BLANK that Notre Dame has announced the September 28 game against Louisville as their “Irish Wear Green” game.

* On a scale of 1 to 10...How important is it that Benjamin Morrison is 100% after a spring shoulder surgery?

* We react to comments from CBS's Danny Kanell on what he thinks of Riley Leonard and Notre Dame's championship hopes this season.

* Kannell also has doubts about Notre Dame’s receiving corps. Are we overvaluing Notre Dame’s wide receivers or are they being undervalued nationally?

We have a few We In/We Out questions that we didn’t get to earlier this week:

* Are you in or out on closing the current college football record books and letting them stand for the rest of history and starting new record books moving foward due to college football playoff expansion?

* In or Out on Notre Dame hosting a CFP game this season?

* In or Out on Alabama missing the playoffs?

* In or out on Nebraska having more wins than LSU this season?

Today's Rapid Fire topics include:

* Fill-in the blank...It’s BLANK that we haven’t seen more of Riley Leonard in Notre Dame’s social media practice highlight videos.

* Fill-in the blank...All the talk about the heat in College Station, Texas is BLANK.

* Howard Cross III, Benjamin Morrison and Xavier Watts have all been named to the 2024 Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List. The award goes to the nation’s top defensive player. Which of those three has the best chance to win the award?

* From a listener: Since Analysts can coach on the field now, do you Buy or Sell that Notre Dame should do whatever it takes to bring Harry Hiestand in on a limited role/ part time analyst to coach up the younger players.

* Longtime college football writer Ralph Russo of the Associate Press looked at the last 10 years of preseason rankings to predict who will actually make it into this year’s 12-team College Football Playoff. The last 10 years say this:

*4 of the 5 teams in the preseason AP top 5 will make it

*2 teams ranked 6 through 10 will make it

*One team ranked between 21 and 25 will make it

*And three unranked teams will make it

-We predict who will make it into this year’s 12-team CFP.

* Notre Dame’s losses this year will be the result of the offense not being able to accomplish 1a. We in or we Out?

* The Irish will feature at least two Punt Returners, possibly three, The Great One will be one of them, and at least two of them will score one or more TDs. We in or we out?

* Will a transfer attain captainship this year and predictions for ND captains this season.

* Jaden Greathouse leads Irish receivers in yards, but Beaux Collins will lead the team in catches. We in or we out?

* ND will achieve at least two end of season, major awards.

* If the Offense is a top 20 offense in the nation will they flip some key recruits?

* If Blake Fisher didn't get injured, would Joe Alt have even seen the field as a freshman?

* Why would Deuce Knight expect playing time behind CJ Carr over the next two years?

* What's the perfect football weather and what's the worst football weather?

* Thoughts on Notre Dame hiring Anthony Treash to head its football analytics.
