Rapid Fire topics include:

* ESPN’s FPI gives Notre Dame the best chance of any team in the country to go undefeated this season. Which do you think is most likely to happen: The Irish go 12-0 or they go 10-2?

* There’s some debate on the Irish Breakdown Champions Lounge about this: Which is the better Notre Dame run play: Kyren Williams in 2021 vs North Carolina or Reggie Brooks in 1992 vs Michigan?

* Fill-in the blank...It’s BLANK that in my interview with Notre Dame All-American point guard Hannah Hidalgo, she told me she never talked to UConn head coach Geno Auriemma during her recruiting process.

* Fox NFL analyst Greg Olsen says NFL announcers would have an easier time calling NBA games than vice versa, because of the pace of basketball and the accessibility of the sport. In an interview on Pardon My Take, Olsen said the constant stop and start of football forces broadcasters to fill more airtime and have something real to say before and after every play. While basketball is just as complex as a sport, Olsen argued he and other NFL announcers could fake their way through the small pockets of a basketball broadcast more easily. Buy or Sell Olsen’s take?

* Fill-in the blank...The NFL is going to the XFL kickoff rule this season and the fact that Baltimore Ravins kicker Justin Tucker says he’s tried to bulk up because he says kickers are involved in around 25% of the tackles is BLANK.

* Joey Chestnut will not be allowed to participate in the Fourth of July Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating contest because he is endorsing a different hot dog brand. It’s actually a plant-based hot dog made by Impossible Foods, which is a competitor to Nathan’s. Will the exclusion of the eight-time reigning champion make you more likely or less likely to watch next month’s contest?

Wednesday means Mailbag Day on IB Nation Sports Talk. Irish Breakdown answers questions about Notre Dame football and more on today's show. Some of the topics include:

* Will Jaden Mickey see more snaps at corner or nickel this season?

* Will linebacker Kahanu Kia have a breakout season?

* Is Philip Rivers a good comp for Notre Dame commit Noah Grubbs?

* Will Notre Dame's offense be better than Ohio State's?

* Thoughts on the production this season of RJ Oben, Boubacar Traore, Josh Burnham, Jordan Botelho, Howard Cross, and Rylie Mills.

* If Notre Dame wins a first round CFP game, does that quell the notion that the Irish can't win a big bowl game?

* Would you rather see Notre Dame beat Michigan, Ohio State or LSU in the playoff?

* What are the chances the SEC and Big 10 runner-up teams get the 5 and 6 seeds in the playoff?

* Will Jaden Greathouse have more receiving yards than Ohio State's top receiver?

* Which transfer receiver will have the best year?

* More!

Irish Breakdown has some College Football Playoff related conversation for Notre Dame. A listener asks if the Irish win a first-round playoff game, would that put to rest the long-standing notion that the Irish can't win a big bowl game? We also discuss if we would want to see the Irish beat Michigan, Ohio State or LSU in a playoff game and more.

Go back and look at the best Notre Dame teams of the last decade and themes will emerge with those squads. One of those themes is that veteran players step up and play the best football of their careers. Notre Dame needs players on both sides of the ball to do that in 2024, and Bryan breaks down the players that Notre Dame needs the most to emerge.
