Irish Breakdown

Rapid Fire topics include:

* Hear new Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock's thoughts on running the football's importance to success at Notre Dame.

* Irish linebackers coach Max Bullough's list of spring priorities and thoughts on sophomore linebacker Drayk Bowen.

* Thoughts on SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey's proposal to "unclutter" the busy month of December.

* Bears quarterback Justin Fields said on the St. Brown brothers podcast last week that it’s no big deal that he’s unfollowed the Bears and the NFL on IG. Fields says just because you don’t follow the girl on IG doesn’t mean you’re not messing around with her. Do you Buy or Sell his explanation?

* The Cubs agreed to a contract with Cody Bellinger this weekend at $80 million for three years. Do you Buy or Sell them as a legit contender after locking Bellinger up?

Irish Breakdown is back with our weekly Notre Dame Football Mailbag. Our listeners and subscribers pick the topics in today's show, and there were a bunch of excellent questions. We had to break the show into four segments, and this is part four.

We had a lot to discuss on the latest extended edition of IB Nation Sports Talk's Rapid Fire show. Topics include:

* New Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock's comments from his Friday press conference on Marcus Freeman, Brian Kelly and whether he ever wants to be a head coach.

* Newly promoted linebacker coach Max Bullough on how his recruiting skills and Nick Saban.

* NBC's decision to move Jac Collinsworth out of the Notre Dame play-by-play booth in favor of veteran announcer Dan Hicks.

* A college football writer thinks Jason Garrett is worse than Collinsworth. Buy or Sell?

* College Football players who opt into the EA Sports Football 25 game will receive $600 and a copy of the game. Do you Buy or Sell that as enough compensation?

* Former Game Day analyst David Pollock will be in the EA Sports game. Should he be considering he is no longer on the TV show?

* We debate some of the best sports calls of all-time.

Rapid Fire topics include:

* Fill-in the blank...All of the uproar about Notre Dame never being able to get a first round College Football Playoff bye after the new 12-team format was finalized yesterday is BLANK.

* Stephen A. Smith went on a “Why is Notre Dame relevant considering they haven’t won a championship in 36 years” rant on TV today. We have our answers to his simplistic question.

* Fill-in the blank...it’s BLANK that the ACC has approved the use of helmet technology and sideline tablets during games this season.

* JJ Watt wants to see more holding flags thrown on offensive linemen trying to block defensive players. He says the way to do it is to reduce the penalty from holding from 10 yards to five yards. He says if you do that it’s more likely to be called more fairly because it’s not as crippling to the offense. Do you Buy or Sell it?

* A college basketball writer says if the Super Bowl can kickoff at 6:30, why does the NCAA men’s basketball national championship game not tip until 9:20. What would we do with college basketball’s title game?
