Rapid Fire topics include:

* Fill-in the blank...Notre Dame promoting Max Bullough from graduate assistant to full-time linebackers coach is BLANK.

* Mike Mickens has also gone from cornerbacks coach to defensive backs coach. On a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you like the move?

* Thoughts on Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick's Tuesday comments on Notre Dame participating in the upcoming EA sports college football game.

* The College Football Playoff Board of Managers has unanimously voted to include the five highest ranked conference champions plus the next seven highest ranked teams in this season’s new 12-team playoff. It’s the 5-7 model as opposed to the 6-6 model. Do you like the change?

* Fill-in the blank...Notre Dame women’s basketball winning at Duke Monday night is BLANK.

* Over the last 30 years, quarterbacks who get to the Super Bowl for the first time and lose that game have never gotten back to the Super Bowl again. We rank the five active QBs who have lost a Super Bowl on their chances of ever getting back.

* If you could send a message to your 10-year-old self to emotionally prepare you for your upcoming life as a sports fan what would the message say?

Notre Dame will have a new look at safety in 2024 from both a coaching and player standpoint. Only one regular at the position returns, although it's a really good one (Xavier Watts). But the Irish will have a new position coach, a new starter and the depth chart will look way, way different. In this segment I discuss what was lost, what returns, what's new and discuss what needs to happen for Notre Dame to actually be better at safety in 2024, which is possible.

Notre Dame promoted Max Bullough to full-time linebackers coach and put Mike Mickens in charge of the entire secondary on top of his pass game coordinator duties. We break down the Bullough hire and why it makes a lot of sense, and discuss the impact on Mickens taking over the entire back end of the defense.
