Shane Brennan is a fantastic young sports journalist who works with the Irish Independent. Despite being born in New York City he became a fan of the New England Patriots. After studying journalism at Dublin City University and undertaking a work placement with Matt Cooper at the Last Word on Today FM, he went on to get a job working with the Indo. Shane has recently brought the local game to a national audience, covering the American Football Ireland weekend fixtures in this past Monday's edition of the newspaper. He discussed the rationale behind that decision with Colum Cronin.

Stiofán Mac Fhilib started watching NFL football in Belfast in 1982. He became a fan of the a great Washington side which had enormous success during the 80s and early 90s. But somewhat disiluusioned by Dan Synder's ownership he found himself drawn to coellege football as a new millenium dawned and has been an adent Notre Dame fan since 2000. He's managed to see the Fighting Irish on both side of the Atlantic and is hopeful that 2023 will be a decent year for the team. He chatted to Colum Cronin about his football fandom journey.
