The company Brevel has created a protein out of microalgae that will be price competitive with pea and soy and is color and flavor neutral. Microalgae are the ultimate source of protein in terms of sustainability, but unfortunately today have very high cost and flavor barriers, which Brevel has managed to solve. Brevel recently announced an $8.4M investment in the company in order to build a commercial pilot factory, expecting products to be on shelves by the end of the year.
