I think most of us are aware that stress can damage our health. As a business owner, however, I thought it was also propelling me forward and helping me get more accomplished.
As humans, we developed the stress mechanism in order to respond to danger in the wild. If we encountered a tiger when we were out foraging for food, our adrenaline and cortisol went into high gear, moving blood to our brains and our muscles so that we could remove ourselves quickly from the danger.
Chronic Stress is a contributor to "leaky gut" which is the root cause of chronic disease, which includes cancer, heart disease and autoimmune diseases.
Not all stress is harmful. Stress that becomes chronic becomes dangerous. I didn't realize, it was also hindering, not helping, my productivity.
Recovery from chronic stress is not negotiable, you can make time to rest and rejuvenate now or make time to be sick and injured later. Desktop book on Stress available on Amazon. Stress 2-minute exercises

Episode Description
We need to affirm that there are good things in the world, gifts, and benefits we've received. Grateful Living is supported by daily practices, tools, habits of mind, and behaviors that can be learned, translated, and applied to many aspects of our lives. It is also nourished in the community and relationships. Small, grateful acts every day can uplift us, make a difference for others, and help change the world. I discuss the importance and benefits of practicing gratitude in all of our relationships, with ourselves, with our spouse, with our families, with our friends, with our bosses and our employees, with our customers, with our neighbors, and with other people, we come in contact with as we navigate our day. There are health benefits and mindset benefits which improve success. Expressing gratitude sets us in the right direction to enjoy the gifts coming in the day.
Long Description
I discuss the importance and benefits of practicing gratitude in all of our relationships, with ourselves, with our spouse, with our families, with our friends, with our bosses and our employees, with our customers, with our neighbors, and with other people, we come in contact with as we navigate our day. There are health benefits and mindset benefits that improve success. Expressing gratitude sets us in the right direction to enjoy the gifts coming in the day. I am a huge believer in the practice of gratitude and believe that it is an important pillar for our health. Adding gratitude to your daily ritual, either first thing in the morning or last thing at night (or both), will make a positive improvement in your health and your life. Our minds create experiences based on what our mind finds possible. If what we find possible are goodness and positive experiences, we automatically create more during that day and then into the future. How does gratitude work? By celebrating what is good in our lives and focusing every morning on the things that we are grateful for, we set our mind in the right direction for the day, and by acknowledging the good in our lives, we have a more positive outlook, and we manifest more good things. We need to affirm that there are good things in the world, gifts, and benefits we've received. Grateful Living is supported by daily practices, tools, habits of mind, and behaviors that can be learned, translated, and applied to many aspects of our lives. It is also nourished in the community and in our relationships. Gratitude needs to be an active verb. Not only do we need to recognize what is good in our lives, but we need to share it. It should be a win, win, win. We need to let our spouse, our family, our pets, our co-workers, our bosses, our customers, our suppliers, and our neighbors all know that we see them, we appreciate them, and we are grateful for them. Other people are attracted to a positive attitude and to people who appreciate who they are and what they do. Small, grateful acts every day can uplift us, make a difference for others, and help change the world. https://www.facebook.com/cherylmhealtmuse
Producer's Note
This was the first podcast recorded at KGEM the studio of Community Media of the Foothills in Monrovia California. You will notice that multiple cameras were used and the editing was initially done by KGEM staff. We added graphics to the original. The rest of the videos were made with a single camera to make it simpler for me to edit. Cheryl hosted and I produced 108 videos in the two channels over the span of three years and during the COVID 19 period of isolation. Enjoy watching
These shows were made with love. They are for people with autoimmune diseases, like me, for cancer survivors, for people with heart disease, for moms who want to raise healthy children, and for everyone else that is healthy and wants to stay that way.
My goal is to inspire people to be their healthiest by making lifestyle changes to improve their health.
This show will become a podcast starting in May 2020 on RGH TV/Voice America and will be an international podcast.
My shows release on Thursdays. This week's show is on stress. Every organ in our bodies is impacted by chronic stress. I almost let the tiger catch me and eat me. My cortisol was only a hair above Addison's Disease when I got sick. I now do little exercise daily to release it before it becomes chronic. I just published a little desktop book on my exercises so that everyone can keep the book close to utilize one exercise intermittently throughout the day. This book is my gift to people who read and review my second book.
My concept is to cover a topic on health and eliminating toxins one week, and then every other week is an interview with someone who got very ill, owned it, dug in, and found a way to return to relative wellness. I want to inspire ill people to know that they can make changes in their life that will support their bodies to return to relative wellness. For example, I will always have an autoimmune disease. Once someone topples over from toxic load, there is no going back. But I have gone from horrendous pain to no pain, all from eliminating toxins and changing my stress levels, how I eat, and how many hours of sleep I get.
Our bodies want to heal. So we have to give them the right nutrition and other components so our bodies CAN heal.
These podcasts contain very interesting stories that will inspire you to do everything in your power to research and find answers for your health. My goal in my Tell Me Your Story series is to give you hope and inspire you to be proactive in your own life so that you can rise up and be all you can be.
I wanted others to share their stories because these people didn't give up, did own their own health, and kept searching for solutions. I want to give you hope that you can find solutions if you own your own health, no matter what is making you feel lousy. Own it. Have robust conversations with your medical professionals. Hire a coach to lead you through all the lifestyle changes that can make a huge difference in your health. You don't need permission to make lifestyle changes from anyone; they won't interrupt whatever you are doing with your MD. But they could make just the difference you are looking for.
I am a health coach and can help you remove toxins from your environment and food. You would set your own goals, and I would hold you accountable to them. I can help you identify where they are and how to find replacements. My first book, It Feels Good to Feel Good, Learn to Eliminate Toxins, Reduce Inflammation and Feel Great Again, has now won 18 awards, including the coveted Mom's Choice Gold award. To find my books https://bit.ly/cherauthorpg. To schedule a complimentary conversation with me, write to me at [email protected]. If you buy my book, write to me for a free workbook that accompanies my book. It took me 5 years to eliminate and replace all these toxins, lowering my toxic load and returning to relative wellness. You can not replace everything at once. By identifying what you need to replace and writing it down, you will have it at your fingertips when it is time to replace it. Each toxin replaced will lower your toxic load and be a step towards a return to wellness. [email protected]
