Lindsey has 5 children. One was really ill. Nothing gave them clues to what was wrong with their 3 yr old daughter. Her skin was blue/ hanging on her frame. She was dying. The medical community was stumped. She met Marilee Nelson by accident, and Marilee explained environmental toxins and gifted her with Branch Basics a remarkable nontoxic cleaner that Marilee's company makes. (Listen to Episode 6) This began a journey where Lindsey started step by step cleaning the toxins out of her home, and by doing so, saved her child's life. The entire family benefited.

Food is more than energy or calories, food is information for every cell in your body. Do you know what the essential nutrients are for life, for our bodies to reach optimal health? Think of it as code that programs your software. Your hardware is your genes. Your software is how those genes are turned on or off
Food regulates your genes, hormones, like insulin, testosterone, estrogen, and thyroid and it alters your brain chemistry, producing happy chemicals.
You eat to build muscle, healthy bones, gain energy, balance your hormones, fix your gut, boost your immunity, improve heart health, and more.
Next time you eat something, ask yourself if you are fine with it becoming part of you for the long term. If not, don't eat it. So do you want to be a chemical french fry or a beautiful vegetable? Everything (our health, our communities, our planet) is connected to what we do or don't eat
The essential nutrients are covered in this podcast. Eat for your future health.

Breast cancer. Illness begins before the symptoms appear. Treating the symptoms of a disease is not going to help you recover your health. You need to get to the root cause of your illness to begin your healing journey.
"What I have been through, will help you get through..." My guest today is Valerie Stancill. Valerie was in health care when her beloved husband was diagnosed with a devastating life-ending illness. She became his advocate and caretaker. Then she became the advocate for her mother.
This podcast expands on why to eat local and close to the farm and how long fruits and vegetables maintain their nutrients.
Do you know that by rubbing two stalks of asparagus together, if they squeak, they are fresh? Or that when you buy fresh corn from the farm, you should shuck it on the way in the door and boil it immediately before the corn begins to turn to sugar? Or should you chop up broccoli 40 minutes before you cook it to maximize its gift of sulforaphane, which has amazing health benefits? Or that spinach loses 30% of its vitamins within 3 days of being picked? (You should still eat spinach if it was picked way before that but wouldn't it be great to enjoy it at its finest?)
I share tips for getting the most from many of our fruits and veggies.
I also talk about the 14 benefits of buying locally, which protects diversity in our food supply because the produce is chosen for nutrients and flavor and not for how far it can travel and remain edible.
This episode begins with a cooking demonstration I did for a food summit. Then, I show how I make a portable rainbow salad to eat away from home. I use canning jars and take all of my phytonutrients with me. I don't want to eat processed restaurant or fast food. I eat for health, so this is my solution to avoid chemicals and sugar.
Then I talk about the importance of buying organic as close to the farm as possible for your body. I live in CA or AZ, so I have farmer markets year-round. My first choice is produce that was picked the day before or if you can subscribe to a CSA box.
Next frozen organic is full nutrition. Then organic from your local store.
I discuss why buying local is important and how quickly fruits and veggies begin to lose some of their gifts for your body. The quicker from picked in your body, the more phytonutrients you get for health.
Why am I so passionate about eating organic? You do NOT need an unhealthy dose of herbicides and pesticides with every bite. And those chemicals used in factory farming go into our groundwater, destroying our rivers and our lakes, and going out to the ocean destroying the life close to the shore(which is where more of the life lives in our oceans). They then get into our water system, and some come out of our tap. Toxins are part of why we have such a health problems, and you need to avoid them as much as possible. So especially if the produce is on the dirty dozen list by EWG.org every year, opt for organic.
Most importantly, cook and eat real food, and take back the power of what you put into your mouth. Eat for your future health.

This is part 2 of my series on the Importance of Sleep. In my last podcast, I discussed the importance of sleep and why we sleep. This podcast focuses on everything that I have learned about how to set your routine so that you do get a good nights sleep every night, which is defined as 7 continuous hours of sleep.
I am excited to announce that I have filmed a series of shows on Health at KGEM that have just started airing on their sister station KMAC. The shows are based on my book “It Feels Good to Feel Good”, which is about Futureproofing Your Health.
They are now available on YouTube. I am delighted to air them first in my community. I grew up here, and it feels great to give back. The first 6 shows are running continually in their time slot.
You can find them on Spectrum Channel 98 and Giggle EXTRA on Channel 87.2 KMAC. We will be posting the shows on my YouTube Channel, cherylm healthmuse, and on my Monrovia Facebook Page, https://www.facebook.com/Monrovia-Hea.... These shows were made with love. They are for people with autoimmune diseases, like me, for cancer survivors, for people with heart disease, for moms who want to raise healthy children, and for everyone else that is healthy and wants to stay that way. My goal is to inspire people to be the healthiest they can be by making lifestyle changes to improve their health. This show will become a podcast starting in May on RGH TV/Voice America, and it will be an international podcast. We are continuing to film, so stay tuned for new episodes.
The first 6 are running now.

I am a huge believer in the practice of gratitude and believe that it is an important pillar for our health. This podcast is a replay, a special edition, of the first podcast I did on VoiceAmerica.tv.
Adding gratitude to your daily ritual, either first thing in the morning or last thing at night (or both), will improve your health and life. Our minds create experiences based on what our mind finds possible. If what we find possible are goodness and positive experiences, we automatically create more during that day and then into the future.
How does gratitude work?
By celebrating what is good in our lives, and focusing every morning on the things that we are grateful for, we set our minds in the right direction for the day, and by acknowledging the good in our lives, we have a more positive outlook, and we manifest more good things.
We must affirm that there are good things in the world, gifts, and benefits we've received.
Grateful Living is supported by daily practices, tools, habits of mind, and behaviors that can be learned, translated, and applied to many aspects of our lives. It is also nourished in community and relationships.
Gratitude needs to be an active verb. Not only do we need to recognize what is good in our lives, but we need to share it. It should be a win, win, win. We need to let our spouses, our family, our pets, our co-workers, our bosses, our customers, our suppliers, and our neighbors all know that we see them, appreciate them, and are grateful for them.
Other people are attracted to a positive attitude and people who appreciate who they are and what they do.
Small, grateful acts every day can uplift us, make a difference for others, and help change the world.
There are health benefits and mindset benefits that improve success. Expressing gratitude sets us in the right direction to enjoy the gifts coming in the day.
I am a health coach. How can I help you?
