Apple PodcastsAndroidRSSMonique Worgess is a young British author from London in the UK; she was born in Jamaica and lived there until she was eleven when she moved to the UK with her family. Monique spent ten years in retail a career she cherished and loved, her colleagues often saw her as a workaholic, promotions ensued but at a personal cost. In 2022 Monique took a career break, to reflect on what had occurred in the past and revalue what really matters to her. This so-called revaluation has created a new persona, her passion for a healthier mindset with strategic disciplines in place is at the essence of who the new Monique is today. This mini break gave her the opportunity to sit down and compose this book, a book about sharing her experiences so that others can reflect on their own lives and identify what they need to do to adjust for a better life.
So, let’s take a snapshot view of the book.
Check out our video chat here!
The Book
This is a small book of five stimulating chapters that touch upon the delicate issues surrounding low esteem, introversive behaviours, coercive control circumstances and interrelationship awareness with others both personally and professionally. The subject matters raised in the book are told through the eyes of the author herself whose own experiences have led to this book. In a way this is Monique talking about the dilemmas she faced, how she dealt with them and how she transgressed over the years to become the version of herself, that she is today.
When you look at the book it’s compiled of the following:
Preface
Introduction
Chapter 1 Introvert
Chapter 2 Am I Free
Chapter 3 Did it Start Here
Chapter 4 Is low Self Esteem an Excuse
Chapter 5 Emerging and Healing
Appendix: Healing Process Starter Checklist
About the Author
For me a pivotal section of the book is the Introduction, for two reasons. 1) Monique starts to open up with lively debate around the various topics she’s raising and 2) she gives you an insight as to what the forth coming chapters hold, reveal so to speak, hence the reason for highlighting it in the interview.
