It's time to look at 2020 through the lens of the Dark Goddess - Kali Ma. In this interview Boulder, Colorado, yogini, Jeanie Manchester, interviews me, Carmel Cathie, about what it was like to take on the name of a dark Goddess like Kali. While the verdict for the 2020 presidential election hangs in a drawn out process of it's own creation,  my podcast interview with yoga teacher and free movement facilitator, Tara Judelle finally aligned. It's timing opened up the perfect opportunity to talk about what it might be like if world leaders, and anyone in opposition to each other, could dive into the somatic experience of their bodies and communicate from there. In other words, what if we could communicate with each other through embodying Consciousness instead through the need to prove something through our hotheaded ego's? This is something we've not yet witnessed in politics and is still an emerging field in many self development circles. But having watched the presidential debates, especially that infamous first one which lead to the necessity for muting the speakers in their second debate in order to keep them in line with the rules of mature adult conduct, this topic is one that it is time was talked about.

It's time to talk about: 

• our perception of otherness at the expense of all the ways in which we are the same
• how we lost our embodiment and how we can get it back
• how we've become dazzled by our own brain
• what it's like to fall in love with our inner organs and all the different layers of our physicality
• how to move energy
• how to skillfully use energy to create through our self
• creating input/output balance
• how to tap into what we really desire, our willingness to move in that direction and our readiness to get what we really came here for
• and so much more

This may seem like a new conversation but in fact it's ancient. It's one you might want to listen to a couple of times as you feel into the deeper layers of what is being conveyed. 

Tara's greatest desire is to become a fuller more dimensional expression of the infinite free Self. She uses a combination of meditation, inquiry, asana and free movement, somatics that are based in the Tantric Philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism and Self Inquiry, curiosity, and desire to harness our human potential to realize a more embodied Self. Journaling practices to help elevate and inspire you further:

A Still Practice:

• sit in a comfortable position, tune into the breath and find your breath breathing in and out of one of your organs (liver, kidneys, spleen, lungs, heart etc)
• ask 'how are you?' and 'what do you need?' or 'what do you want me to know?' Write whatever comes up without editing, just let it flow. It may turn into a conversational dialogue between you an the organ you are breathing with, let it. See what emerges.

A Movement Practice:

• put on some music that resonates with your current mood
• tune into a thought or feeling you are having that you are more deeply curious about
• allow your body to move
• see where it takes you
• what does it take to dissolve or alchemize what is tight or coiled within your body into pure energy?
• once you come to stillness journal on your experience

It's time to talk about the hidden power in dreams, sex, joy and evil. Let's feel into the power that lays innate within each and everyone of us; dare we look, dare we seek to find, reveal and activate such power in our worlds today?

It's a moving, raw and vulnerable sharing between two women that might normally only be reserved for truly secret conversation.

Dream Journal Practice:

• Write down your dreams and notice how as you write them out more detail emerges. Let it, you are dreaming back into the dream.
• Become the different parts/characters of a dream. Feel into the roles they play, how they feel, what they say/do, then finish the stem sentence:"I am the part of me that______________"
• One you've become all the different parts of the dream and experienced them as different parts of yourself, pull them all together and finish this stem sentence: "The message in this dream is____________"

During my meditation this morning I felt myself in tears of gratitude for having the practice that I do. It's always there for me, no matter what. It needs no props, altho a cushion, shawl and journal are deeply comforting to me. But I can practice this practice anywhere, at any time, in any situation.

It is a LIFE SAVER so I wanted to share it as a life vest for anyone who feels like they may be drowning in the intensity of 2020's storm.

It's time to talk about spirituality, religion, growing up, finding our path and walking what's true for us personally.

There's no right or wrong path. There's no one true path. There are as many different paths as there are people on the planet today... and, if you're alive at this time, it is not by accident. You are meant to be here. You have something you are here for. Now is your time to access the wisdom that bought you here and this practice is about opening the door to the listening that will guide you there.

As my Zen Master JunPo Roshi, has said so many times, "Only YOU can take YOUR seat, so take your seat!" Now is our time.

The trust you are being asked to cultivate is the kind of trust we find flowing through the pores of the God/dess who lives inside your precious human body... ⁣

... beyond thinking, strategizing and planning... ⁣

... beyond your ego mind that thinks it knows everything when in actual fact the smartest thing it could say is:⁣

 “I don’t know___________ but I feel _______ so I’ll follow that.”⁣

This is deep listening. ⁣This is from where sovereignty and personal power arise... ⁣This is deep listening that aligns you with your with your next right step. ⁣

⁣This is manifesting from the inside out. ⁣

⁣This is the layer of consciousness that does know... and that offers you the sweetest salvation inside the storm of uncertainty.

We're Musing in the Woods again. In this episode I share stories about the three day drive, through what looked and felt apocalyptic and paranormal, that I took with my husband and three year old son back to Lake Tahoe from Hood River. It seemed each turn we took we were heading into another fire. Closed roads, backtracking steps, over priced hotel bills and moldy hotels, all in the name of avoidance. But everywhere you go there you always are and through it all was the felt sense of being pulled by and anchored in and as light.

It's time to talk about fearlessness, personal sovereignty, creating from the inside out and being YOU no matter what.

It’s time to ask ourselves questions: 

• How does the darkness serve you?
• What activities, geographical locations, people and ways of being make your light shine brightest?
• What steps might you take to claim more of your personal, financial and emotional sovereignty?
• How can you reframe your so called failures as primers for the intense circumstances we are now living in?
• What future timeline makes your heart swell the most? And what shifts in your current day life must you make in order to align with that timeline?
• What does your heart most desire to create?
• How do you create differently when you create from the inside out?

When we consciously view our life through a lens of success knowing that everything that has happened and is happening is preparing us for whats happening now and yet to come, then we truly appreciate each moment for the growthful opportunity that it is. Herein lays the gifts of the now and the choices offered to create the timeline that will serve the wisdom, love and will that seeks to flow through us.

If you are alive at this time you are meant to be here. There is something you are here to be, do and offer. Just breathing at this time, just shining your unique sense of self at this time, is service.

It’s time to talk about creating fearlessness in a fearless reality, even when all around you is burning to the ground. The future we are moving into is void of fear.... between here and there all the dark comes up - it's time to sort the wheat from the chaff. This is our time to buckle up and ride the waves into our newest, most aligned timeline. 

A Clearing Practice

You are offered a practice that invites you to anchor in your heart center, while being aware of the walls around you, and clearing out all the stuff that is not serving you in between. Clearing the energetic realms first clears the way for clearing to take place in the more physical realms.
