I’ve Got a Beatles Podcast!

We go back to 1976 for a review of Wings At The Speed of Sound, the album that propelled Wings's 1976 tour across America. This was intended to be a democratic effort where each member of the group sang a lead vocal, and it was supported by two big hit songs, "Let 'Em In" and "Silly Love Songs." How does the album hold up now? Check out the episode to hear our thoughts.

In this episode, we discuss our favorite friend-of-the-show Jeff Lynne! We trace his background, his heyday with ELO, and all of his work with the solo Beatles (and Threetles). Chris is positively giddy throughout the episode, talking about one of his favorite musicians! You'll hear about all of Lynne's work with George, the Traveling Wilburys, Paul McCartney, Ringo, and much more.

Enjoy!

Join us as we discuss two Beatles "rejects" from 1965, "If You've Got Trouble" and "That Means A Lot." Should the Beatles have rejected them? Are there any redeeming values to these songs? And what's the scandal regarding PJ Proby all about? (the singer who recorded and released "That Means A Lot).

Enjoy!

We start off 2022 with a lively discussion and review of George Harrison's 1991 tour of Japan and subsequent album with Eric Clapton's band. Why did he only tour for a couple of weeks? Why Japan? What songs did he play on the tour? What did we think of the album from the tour? Check out our discussion of everything related to this unique event in George Harrison's career. This was his only full-length solo live album release. Enjoy the episode!

We have finally put together our full review of Peter Jackson's mammoth series Get Back! We could have talked about this for much longer, but we'll be sure to come back to it again in coming days.

Here's the plan of the episode:

1) General discussion about the series, organization, main themes

2) A "deep dive" of the Twickenham sessions (discussion of each day)

3) A quicker run through of the Apple Studios sessions leading to the rooftop concert

4) Listener emails and feedback

5) A "lightning round" of fun topics

6) Overall thoughts

We're back in the lab with another song under the microscope -- this time, it's "And Your Bird Can Sing" from Revolver. We talk about both versions (on Revolver and on Anthology, Vol. 2), the lyrics, the music, and of course, many covers. Here are the links for some of them:
