Carmela De Vargas was arrested due to a violation of her parole. For 2 months she was incarcerated in Santa Fe county jail. On November 9, 2019 Carmela died as result of failure at the Santa Fe County Detention Center to afford her the necessary medical treatment to save her life. Carmela was not the only individual who passed away from sepsis related infections. Carmela's family had created a petition to start an investigation within the prison regarding this issue. When Kelsey Love was arrested back in 2017, she was forced to give birth alone in her jail cell. After notifying deputes that she was in labor, officers failed to provide the medical attention kelsey needed. She gave birth to her newborn child, bit off her umbilical cord, dug a hole in the mattress where she and her child laid until a nurse finally arrived. The Franklin County jail has a policy that all pregnant woman must be checked on every 10 minutes.  Clearly, officers are not doing their jobs at that facility.

July 9th, 2021 a Amber alert was issued for Yasemin Uyar and her son Sebastian Uyar. With a long battle of searching and praying, Sebastian Uyar was found with his father in Tennessee unharmed. Unfortunately, Yasemin's life was taken by her son's father. Yasemin suffered from domestic violence for many years until she picked up her strength to finally leave the toxic relationship. In the process of her starting her new and improved life over, the perpetrator Tyler Rios had darker plans. In this episode I not only highlight how the system failed to protect Yazzi, but the importance of Yazzi Law. Within this episode I explain the statues within Yazzi Law and other important facts regarding Domestic Violence.

In this episode I sit down with Mr. Hill and discuss his experience in New Jersey State Prison. In 2004 Mr. Hill's life flipped upside down. Imagine being accused for a crime you did not do? Imagine crying out your innocence for 16.5 years! After Mr. Hill's sentence was vacated I was curious to know how was his transition back into society. We all get to hear his process acclimating back into society. This episode is powerful and extremely touching.

In this episode I give you all a synopsis of Mr. Hill's case. I highlight the actual and factual evidence that proved Mr. Hill innocence for 16 years. Mr. Hill served 16 years of his life in New Jersey State Prison for a crime he did not commit. Not only did the state paint him as a monster, they turned a blind eye to justice.  July 9, 2021 a Camden County judge granted a request by the state Attorney General’s Office to vacate his 2004 murder conviction. His case was taken on by the Attorney General Office’s new Conviction Review Unit, and this marks the unit’s first exoneration. Hopefully the first of MANY. *There was a mistake brought to my attention regarding this episode. Anthony the actual perpetrator of this crime is NOT Mr. Hill's cousin, it is his brother. The target was not a woman, the target was Mr. Moore. Thank you for understanding.*
