Today, I am going to talk about hay fever.
ã¿ããªã¯è±ç²ã£ãŠç¥ã£ãŠãŸããïŒè±ç²ã¯è±èªã§pollenã§ããã
Does everyone know what pollen is? Pollen is "pollen" in English, right.
è±ç²ãããã¯è±ç²ã®ç æ°ã§ãã
Hay fever is an illness caused by pollen.
ç®ãããããªã£ããã錻氎ãããããåºããããŸãã
Your eyes get itchy, and you get a very runny nose.
æè¿æ¥æ¬ã§è±ç²ã倧å€ã§ãã
Pollen is a big problem in Japan lately.
ãã¡ããã¡ãè±ç²ãé£ãã§ãããã§ãã
I hear that a huge amount of pollen is flying around.
åã¯è±ç²ããããããªãã§ãã
I don't have hay fever.
æ¬åœã«ã©ãããŒã§ããã
I am really lucky, aren't I?
ã§ãåã®å®¶æãšãåéãšãè±ç²ããããªãã§ãã
But my family and friends have hay fever.
ã ããä»è±ç²ãããããé£ãã§ããããè±ç²ãããã倧å€ã¿ããã§ãã
So, because a lot of pollen is flying now, it seems hay fever is quite tough for them.
æ¬åœã«å€§å€ããã§ããã
They looked like they were really having a hard time.
ç®ããšãŠããããã£ãŠèšã£ãŠããŸããã
They were saying that their eyes are very itchy.
åã¯è±ç²ããããããªãããããã®æ°æã¡ãããŸãããããŸããã
Since I don't have hay fever, I don't really understand that feeling.
ã§ããè±ç²ãããã®äººã¯è±ç²ã®å£ç¯ãæ¬åœã«å¥œããããªãã£ãŠèšã£ãŠãŸããã
But, people with hay fever said they really don't like the pollen season.
ãããŠè±ç²ã®å£ç¯ã£ãŠæ®é 3æãããã ããã§ãã
And I heard that the pollen season is usually around March.
ã§ãä»ã¯ãŸã 2æã§ãã
But it is still only February now.
ã ããä»å¹Žã®è±ç²ã®å£ç¯ã¯ãšãŠãæ©ãã§ãããã
So the pollen season this year is very early, isn't it?
2æã«å§ãŸã£ãŠã 5æé ãŸã§ã ããã§ãã
I heard it starts in February and lasts until around May.
ãšãŠãé·ãã§ãããã
That is very long, right?
ã ãã 2æ 3æ 4æ 5æãã£ãšç®ããããã£ããã錻氎ãåºãããããããªãã§ãã
So I hear their eyes are itchy and their noses are runny all through February, March, April, and May.
倧å€ã§ãããã
It's tough, isn't it?
è±ç²ãããã®äººã¯ç é¢ã«è¡ã£ãŠè¬ãããããŸãã
People with hay fever go to the hospital and get medicine.
ãã®è¬ã飲ããšå°ãããã¿ããã§ãã
It seems they feel a bit better when they take that medicine.
ã§ãè±ç²ãããã®è¬ããããã飲ããšç ããªããããªãã§ããã
But I hear that if you take a lot of hay fever medicine, you get sleepy.
ã ãããã¡ããã¡ã倧å€ã ãªã£ãŠæããŸããã
So I thought, "Wow, that's really tough."
